Let's Dance (David Bowie Album)
''Let's Dance'' is the 15th studio album by English singer-songwriter David Bowie, released on 14 April 1983 through EMI America Records. After the release of '' Scary Monsters'' (1980), Bowie began a period of numerous musical collaborations and film appearances. By 1982, he left RCA Records out of dissatisfaction and signed with EMI America. Wanting a fresh start, he chose Nile Rodgers of the band Chic to co-produce his next record. The album was recorded in December 1982 at the Power Station in New York City. The sessions featured entirely new players, including then-unknown Texas blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan on lead guitar. For the first time ever, Bowie only sang and played no instruments. Musically, ''Let's Dance'' has been described as a post-disco record, with elements of dance-rock, dance-pop and new wave. ''Hawk Nelson Is My Friend'' is the third full-length studio album from Christian rock band Hawk Nelson. It was released on April 1, 2008, debuting at No. 34 on the ''Billboard'' 200. In the first week of its release the album sold a little over 30,000 copies. Hawk Nelson wrote the songs, as usual together with Trevor McNevan, but this time also with Richard Marx and Raine Maida. The album was produced by award-winning David Bendeth ( Paramore, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus). The album artwork, created by Invisible Creature, was nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for Best Recording Package. Singles "Friend Like That" was the first single from the album, released in the iTunes Store on December 24, 2007. A music video was filmed for the song. ''Let's Dance'' was an early Australian television series. The 15-minute series ran weekly from 25 March to 23 September 1957, and aired on Melbourne station HSV-7. The series featured Sue and Colin Campbell, who demonstrated dancing for the viewers. Sue Campbell would put decorations on her shoes to attract viewers attention to her feet. ''Let's Sing and Dance'', formerly known as ''Let's Dance'', is a British television programme shown on BBC One, featuring celebrities performing famous dance routines to raise money for the charities Comic Relief and Sport Relief. The programme was presented by Steve Jones and Alex Jones, who replaced previous host Claudia Winkleman in 2011. In the first series, Anton du Beke was a regular judge, appearing alongside two guest panellists, but in the second series onwards, three guest judges were on the panel each week. The first series aired between 21 February and 14 March 2009 and was won by Robert Webb. It raised over £300,000 for Comic Relief.
