José Inácio de Mello (born 7 January 1934), known as Zé de Mello, is a Brazilian footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He made five appearances for the Brazil national team in 1959. Juazeiro do Norte is a city in the state of Ceará state in northeastern Brazil. It is located 491 km south of the state capital Fortaleza in the semiarid sertão. The 1959 South American Championship held in Ecuador was an extra South American Championship for the year. The tournament was contested between five teams; Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, and Peru did not participate, whilst Brazil attended with a team from Pernambuco. Uruguay won their 10th South American title.
