Zákupy
Zákupy (; german: Reichstadt) is a town in Česká Lípa District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,900 inhabitants. The town centre with the castle is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Administrative parts Villages of Božíkov, Brenná, Kamenice, Lasvice, Šidlov and Veselí are administrative parts of Zákupy. Geography Zákupy is located about east of Česká Lípa and southwest of Liberec. It lies in the Ralsko Uplands. The highest point is the hill Kamenický kopec at above sea level. The southern part of the municipal territory extends into the Kokořínsko – Máchův kraj Protected Landscape Area. The Svitávka River flows through the town. The Ploučnice flows across the southern part of the territory, its confluence with the Svitávka is located on the southwestern municipal border. Anna Maria Franziska Of Saxe-Lauenburg
Anna Maria Franziska of Saxe-Lauenburg (13 June 1672 – 15 October 1741) was the legal Duchess of Saxe-Lauenburg in the eyes of the Holy Roman Emperor, the overlord of Saxe-Lauenburg, from 1689 until 1728; however, because her distant cousin George William, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, conquered the duchy by force in 1689, she exercised no control over the territory, instead living in her manors in Bohemia. She was Grand Duchess of Tuscany as the wife of the last Medici Grand Duke, Gian Gastone. Anna Maria Franziska was the elder surviving daughter of Julius Franz, Duke of Saxe-Lauenburg, and Maria Hedwig of the Palatinate-Sulzbach. She married Philipp Wilhelm August of the Palatinate in 1690, with whom she had her only child, Maria Anna, in 1691. She was widowed in 1693. Julius Francis (16 September 1641 – 30 September 1689) was duke of Saxe-Lauenburg between 1666 and 1689. He was a son of Duke Julius Henry and his third wife Anna Magdalena of Lobkowicz (1606 – 1668), daughter of Baron William ''the Younger'' Popel of Lobkowicz. He was officially known as ''Julius Franz von Sachsen, Engern und Westfalen''. Life His father Julius Henry had acquired sprawling estates around and a castle in Ploschkowitz (Ploskovice) and Schlackenwerth (Ostrov), Kingdom of Bohemia. Julius Francis had inherited more estates from his Bohemian mother, which is why the dukes of Saxe-Lauenburg had been adopted into the Bohemian nobility, however, not as imperially immediate aristocrats, as in their homeland. Countess Palatine Maria Anna Of Neuburg
Maria Anna of Neuburg (Marie Anna Karoline; 30 January 1693 – 12 September 1751) was a daughter of Anna Maria, Grand Duchess of Tuscany's first marriage to Philip William August of Neuburg. She married Duke Ferdinand Maria of Bavaria on 5 February 1719 in Reichstadt, Bohemia, a younger son of Elector Maximilian II of Bavaria. They had three children, only one of whom lived to mature adulthood. She was still an infant when her father and older sister, Leopoldina, died within a month of one another in 1693. Her mother, a wealthy widow, was married for a second time, against her wishes, on 2 July 1697 in Düsseldorf to Prince Gian Gastone de' Medici, a younger son of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, to whom she brought the prospect of inheriting substantial lands in Bohemia. The Svitávka (german: Zwittebach) is a river in Liberec Region ( Czech Republic) and Saxony ( Germany). It is a right tributary of the Ploučnice, which it joins near Zákupy. Its source is in the Zittau Mountains, near Jonsdorf. After about it crosses the Czech border and flows further south, through Mařenice, Kunratice u Cvikova, Velenice and Zákupy. Julius Henry (9 April 1586 – 20 November 1665) was duke of Saxe-Lauenburg between 1656 and 1665. Before ascending to the throne he served as Field Marshal in the imperial army. Life Before regency Born at Wolfenbüttel, he was a son of Duke Francis II and his second wife Maria (1566–1626), daughter of Duke Julius of Brunswick and Lunenburg (Wolfenbüttel). Julius Henry studied at the University of Tübingen and entered into the service of King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden afterwards. In expectation of becoming appointed Prince-Bishop of Osnabrück he converted to Roman Catholicism as a young man. Berka of Dubá ( cs, Berka z Dubé) was a cadet branch of a Bohemian noble family of Lords of Dubá established by Hynek Berka of Dubá (1249–1306). It held estates in what is today the Czech Republic and Saxony in Germany throughout the Middle Ages.
