''Zygote'' is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter John Popper. Produced by Terry Manning, it was released on September 7, 1999, less than a month after the death of bassist Bobby Sheehan (Popper's friend and fellow member of the band Blues Traveler). Crugie
Crugie (born Christopher Riccio) is an American-born guitarist, singer-songwriter and visual artist from Princeton, NJ. He is known for his ‘90s Hoboken, NJ rock band Cycomotogoat, his work on the John Popper (of Blues Traveler) solo album ''Zygote'', and his co-starring role in the Cory McAbee film ''Stingray Sam''. He now lives in New York and is half of the songwriting and recording duo Super User Friendly. Career Crugie formed punk band The Disturbed in 1981 in Princeton, NJ with drummer "Stroller" Ben White and bass player Dave Wilder. The band played at local high schools, Princeton University eating clubs, Maxwell's in Hoboken, CBGB in New York, and the Princeton "Teen Cafe." After graduating from high school in 1986, the band moved to Providence, RI and played local clubs like Rocket. They released the 8-song EP ''Totalled Volvo'' in 1987. Jon Gordon Langseth Jr. (born January 29, 1981), known as Jonny Lang, is an American blues, gospel, and rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Carter Beauford
Carter Anthony Beauford (born November 2, 1958) is an American drummer, percussionist, and founding member of Dave Matthews Band. He is known for his ability to adapt to a variety of genres, and both his ambidextrous and his open-handed drumming styles. He plays the drums and sings backing vocals in the band. Beauford was ranked number 10 by a ''Rolling Stone'' magazine reader's poll in 2010 for greatest drummers of all-time. Background Beauford was first exposed to the drums at age three. At the time, his father had bought tickets to a Buddy Rich concert and could not find someone to watch his son, so he took young Beauford along to the show. Blues Traveler (formerly known as "The Establishment" or "The Black Cat Jam" or "The Establishment Blues Band") is an American rock band that formed in Princeton, New Jersey in 1987. They are known for extensive use of segues in live performances, and were considered a key part of the re-emerging jam band scene of the 1990s, spearheading the H.O.R.D.E. touring music festival.
