Zwartemeer
Zwartemeer () is a village in the Netherlands and it is part of the Emmen municipality in Drenthe. It is located on the border with Germany. History Zwartemeer is a linear settlement along a canal which was established in 1871 as a buckwheat settlement. It was named after the black water of the moor lake which was the source of the . The colonist were mainly from Twente and Germany and were mainly Catholic. In 1932, it was home to 2,419 people. Since 1974, a carnival is organised in Zwartemeer which attracts large crowds. Jeroen Lambers
Jeroen Lambers (born 20 October 1980) is a Dutch former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper Career Lambers began playing football with FC Groningen, Groningen after being scouted as a 17-year-old at his local club VV Zwartermeer. After seven years as a reserve goalkeeper in Groningen, Lambers had a successful trial with Falkirk F.C., Falkirk and signed for the Scottish Premier League club in 2006. Lambers returned to the Netherlands in 2007 after losing his starting spot in Falkirk to Kasper Schmeichel. Instead, he signed with SC Veendam, Veendam where he was mostly a backup to Barry Ditewig. After playing some years in the lower leagues for WKE and VV Zwartemeer, he retired from football 2016 due to a bacterial infection in his knee. Emmen () is a municipality and town of the province of Drenthe in the northeastern Netherlands. History A planned city, Emmen arose from several small farming and peat-harvesting communities which have dotted the province of Drenthe since the Middle Ages. Traces of these communities can still be seen in the form of the villages of Westenesch, Noordbarge and Zuidbarge: they have a separate history and layout but are surrounded by the suburbs and the center of Emmen. A linear settlement is a (normally small to medium-sized) settlement or group of buildings that is formed in a long line. Many of these settlements are formed along a transport route, such as a road, river, or canal. Others form due to physical restrictions, such as coastlines, mountains, hills or valleys. Twente ( nl, Twente , Tweants dialect: ''Tweante'') is a region in the eastern Netherlands. It encompasses the most urbanised and easternmost part of the province of Overijssel. Buckwheat
Buckwheat (''Fagopyrum esculentum''), or common buckwheat, is a flowering plant in the knotweed family Polygonaceae cultivated for its grain-like seeds and as a cover crop. The name "buckwheat" is used for several other species, such as '' Fagopyrum tataricum'', a domesticated food plant raised in Asia. Despite its name, buckwheat is not closely related to wheat. It is not a cereal, nor is it even a member of the grass family.
