Adam Zwar (born 13 January 1972) is an Australian actor, voice artist, and writer. He is best known for co-creating the Australian comedy series '' Squinters'', '' Lowdown'', '' Wilfred'' and creating the critically acclaimed Channel 10 comedy '' Mr. Black'' as well as the popular factual series '' Agony Aunts'', '' Agony Uncles'', '' The Agony of Life'', '' The Agony of Modern Manners'' and ''Agony''. Charles Zwar (10 April 1911 – 2 December 1989) was an Australian songwriter, composer, lyricist, pianist and music director who was largely associated with the British revue and musical comedy industries between the late-1930s and 1960s. Life and work Early life The youngest son of Mr and Mrs Charles Zwar of Broadford, Victoria (Australia), Charles Zwar (Jnr) was born on 10 April 1911. He was later educated in the Melbourne suburb of Williamstown, attending North Williamstown State Primary and Williamstown High School. During his childhood Zwar developed a passion for music, and is reported to have been a student of Mr G. W. McKeown. Desmond Zwar, born in Beechworth, Victoria, was an author and veteran reporter from Melbourne, Australia. He studied at Scotch College, Melbourne, graduating in 1949. He worked for the ''Border Mail'' in Albury, New South Wales, and '' The Herald'' (now the ''Herald Sun'') in Melbourne. He was a reporter, foreign correspondent, feature writer and acting features editor of the ''Daily Mail'' in London for 11 years. Having previously lived near Cairns in Queensland, , he resided in Beechworth. Henry Peter Zwar, OBE (2 December 1873 – 12 January 1959) was an Australian liberal/conservative politician, local government councillor, local government head, Member of Lower House and tannery owner. Early life Zwar was born in 1873 in Broadford, Victoria, the younger brother of Albert Zwar. His parents, Michael Zwar and Agnes Zimmer, were Sorbs from Bautzen in Saxony, Germany, who had sought asylum after taking part in the 1848 revolution. The British government told them if they emigrated to Australia, they would be treated as British subjects, and they moved to Broadford in 1850. Political career Zwar was elected as a United Australia Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly for Heidelberg at the 1932 state election.
