Zvi Mowshowitz
Zvi Mowshowitz is a former professional Magic: The Gathering player who also held a developer intern position at Wizards of the Coast Magic R&D. He is known for having created innovative and sometimes game-breaking decks TurboZvi and My Fires. His first-place finishes include a Pro Tour and a Grand Prix. He has placed in the top eight of four Pro Tours, and earned over $140,000 playing Magic competitively. In 2007, Mowshowitz was elected into the Magic Hall of Fame. Mowshowitz is also an avid internet writer, previously with ''The Dojo'', ''Mindripper'', ''Brainburst'', ''StarCityGames'', and then for the official Magic website MagicTheGathering.com. In April 2006, he stopped writing for MagicTheGathering.com. Mowshowitz was the CEO of MetaMed, a medical research analysis firm. Michael Long is a former professional Magic: The Gathering player who was a high-profile figure on the Pro Tour in its formative years. ''Magic: The Gathering'' ''Magic: The Gathering'' was released in 1993 and a Pro Tour launched the following year. Long proved to be an early celebrity champion. He was known for his charismatic persona, and often presented as a "villain" in the ''Magic'' tournaments. Deborah Mowshowitz
Deborah Mowshowitz (''née'' Bernhardt) is an American biochemist and a Professor of Biology and Director of Undergraduate Programs and Lab Operations at Columbia University. Mowshowitz was trained in pure biochemistry and has done research in RNA processing. In her early work she focused on pedagogy and biology education. Education Mowshowitz was awarded a BA from Brandeis University and entered the Sue Golding Graduate Division of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. At Albert Einstein, Mowshowitz studied biochemistry under James E. Darnell and received her PhD in 1969 for a thesis entitled "tRNA synthesis in HeLa cells". Research Mowshowitz was Darnell's first graduate student at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
