Zsolt Kontra (born August 23, 1955, in Sopron) is a former Hungarian handball player who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics and in the 1980 Summer Olympics The 1980 Summer Olympics (russian: Летние Олимпийские игры 1980, Letniye Olimpiyskiye igry 1980), officially known as the Games of the XXII Olympiad (russian: Игры XXII Олимпиады, Igry XXII Olimpiady) and commo .... In 1976 he was part of the Hungarian team which finished sixth in the Olympic tournament. He played all five matches and scored seven goals. Four years later he finished fourth with the Hungarian team in the 1980 Olympic tournament. He played all six matches and scored 30 goals. Sopron (; german: Ödenburg, ; sl, Šopron) is a city in Hungary on the Austrian border, near Lake Neusiedl/Lake Fertő. History Ancient times-13th century When the area that is today Western Hungary was a province of the Roman Empire, a city called ''Scarbantia'' stood here. Its forum was located where the main square of Sopron can be found today. During the Migration Period, Scarbantia was believed to be deserted. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team.
