Zoya Hasan
Zoya Hasan is an Indian academic and political scientist. Education and career She was Professor of Political Science and Dean of the School of Social Sciences (SSS) at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She served as a member of the National Commission for Minorities from 2006 to 2009. She has been a Visiting Professor to the Universities of Zurich, Edinburgh, and Maison des Sciences de L'Homme, Paris, and held fellowships at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, Rockefeller Centre, Bellagio, and Centre for Modern Oriental Studies, Berlin. She has worked on research projects for the Indian Council of Social Science Research, Ford Foundation, DFID, United Nations Research Institute for Social Development and the Observer Research Foundation. Mushirul Hasan
Mushirul Hasan (15 August 1949 – 10 December 2018) was a historian of modern India. He wrote on the partition of India, Communalism (South Asia), communalism, and on the history of Islam in South Asia. Education Hasan was the second son of historian Mohibbul Hasan and brother of journalist Najmul Hasan (journalist), Najmul Hasan. Mushirul Hasan obtained his M. A. from the Aligarh Muslim University in 1969. He then earned a Doctor of Philosophy, Doctorate (PhD) from the University of Cambridge in 1977. Career He was a professor in the Department of History and Culture, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He also served as the Director of Academy of Third World Studies in Jamia Millia Islamia from July 2000 to January 2010. He was the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia from 1992 to 1996. Jamia Millia Islamia
Jamia Millia Islamia () is a central university located in New Delhi, India. Originally established at Aligarh, United Provinces (present-day Uttar Pradesh, India) during the British Raj in 1920, it moved to its current location in Okhla in 1935. It was given the deemed status by University Grants Commission in 1962. On 26 December 1988, it became a central university. The foundation committee of the university included Abdul Bari Firangi Mahali, Hussain Ahmad Madani, Muhammad Iqbal, Sanaullah Amritsari, Syed Mehmood and others. Its foundation stone was laid by Mahmud Hasan Deobandi, the leader of Silk Letter Movement and the first student of Darul Uloom Deoband. Muhammad Ali Jauhar served as its first vice-chancellor from 1920 to 1923, and Hakim Ajmal Khan served as the first chancellor from 1920 to 1927.
