''Zothera'' is a compilation album by Mentallo & The Fixer, released on September 26, 2014 by Alfa Matrix. The collection comprises remastered audio of the band's first two albums for Zoth Ommog, 1993's '' Revelations 23'' and ''Where Angels Fear to Tread'', packaged with a third disc featuring previously unreleased remixes and versions. A free bonus compilation of eighteen tracks is also included, titled ''Sounds From the Matrix 015'', featuring previously unreleased songs from then forthcoming releases for Alfa Matrix. Mentallo & The Fixer
Mentallo and the Fixer (sometimes written as Mentallo & the Fixer) is the project name used by Texan electro-industrial musicians Gary Dassing (Mentallo) and Dwayne Dassing (The Fixer) from 1988 to 1999, and by Gary Dassing alone from 1999 to the present day. The band has several releases on the American record label, Metropolis Records. They are named after two Marvel Comics characters. Biography The Dassing brothers first began experimenting with music by the means of more traditional rock music instruments, such as guitar and drums. However, by the time the two formed their first band Benestrophe with vocalist Richard Mendez, the instruments of choice became synthesizers and samplers. Most of the two tapes worth of material they recorded subsequently became available as the releases ''Sensory Deprivation'' and ''Auric Fires'' on Ras Dva Records. ''Where Angels Fear to Tread'' is the third studio album by Mentallo & The Fixer, released on May 16, 1994, by Zoth Ommog Records. It is considered a favorite of the band's critics and audience. Music ''Where Angels Fear to Tread'' integrated gothic music into its sound, making its compositions sound more melancholy in contrast to the abrasive sound of the band's previous work. The album's music also made extensive use of you use of science fiction and horror film samples. The album was re-released by Metropolis Records on July 18, 1995, without additional content. ''Revelations 23'' is the second studio album by Mentallo & The Fixer, released in February 1993 by Zoth Ommog Records. Music ''Revelations 23'' presented the band utilizing their densely layered compositional technique based around sequencer rhythms, dance beats and distorted vocals to create a more accessible sound. Comparatively, the album presents a more polished sound than its predecessor, 1992's '' No Rest for the Wicked'', and further use of samples. The album Founding members Dwayne Dassing and Gary Dassing have both admitted to having an interest in astronomy, which inspired the album's cover art. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand.
