Branko Zorko
Branko Zorko (born 1 July 1967) is a Croatian retired middle distance runner who specialized in the 1500 metres. Zorko competed in the 1500 metres in five Olympic Games, from 1988 to 2004, making it through to the semi-finals in 1992 and 1996. He won bronze medals at the 1993 World Indoor Championships in Toronto and the 1994 European Championships in Helsinki. In 1992 he was awarded the Franjo Bučar State Award for Sport. He was born in Hodošan. Running career Early career On November 20, 1984, Zorko ran his first ever race, which he won on a cross country course at the age of 17. Less than a year into training, he posted a time of 8:30 for 3000 meters and won a competitive high school race called ''Kros Sportskih Novosti''. He declined offers to train with AK Crvena Zvezda and instead remained in Križevci, where he did intervals on a track only once a week. Dayne Zorko
Dayne Zorko (born 9 February 1989) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Zorko is a five-time Merrett–Murray Medallist and was selected in the 2017 All-Australian team. He was also the Lions' leading goalkicker in 2016 and 2017. Zorko has served as Brisbane Lions captain since midway through the 2018 season, after Dayne Beams stepped down from the captaincy. Early life Zorko was born and raised on the Gold Coast where he attended Benowa State High School throughout his teenage years. Zdenko Zorko (born 18 August 1950) is a Croatian former handball player who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics and in the 1976 Summer Olympics for Yugoslavia. In his youth Zdenko Zorko played football in NK Dinamo Zagreb before playing handball. In 1972 he was part of the Yugoslav team which won the gold medal at the Munich Games. Zorko Cvetković (September 4, 1924 – December 13, 2017) was a Croatian electrical engineer and basketball player and coach. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Zorko Čanadi
Zorko Čanadi (25 July 1925 – 24 August 2003) was a General officer, general of the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). Biography In 1943, during World War II in Yugoslavia, Čanadi joined both the Yugoslav Partisans and the League of Communists of Yugoslavia (SKJ). He was promoted to Major General in 1972, Lieutenant General in 1976 and Colonel General in 1982. In the 1970s and the 1980s, he held a number of senior positions in the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). He was chief of staff and therefore deputy commander of the First Army in 1974–1978, and commander of the Fifth Army in 1980–1985. In 1985–1987, he held the position of the Chief of the General Staff (Yugoslavia)#Yugoslav People's Army (1945–1992), Chief of the General Staff of the JNA.
