Zora Tavčar

	Zora Tavčar Zora Tavčar (born 2 October 1928) is a Slovene writer, essayist and translator, living in Opicina (Slovenian: Opčine) in the suburbs of Trieste, Italy. She was married to a notable member of the Slovene minority in Italy, writer Alojz Rebula. Life Tavčar was born in Loka pri Zidanem Mostu in 1928. She studied comparative literature, literary theory and Slovene language and literature at the University of Ljubljana. In 1963 she completed her doctorate at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. 	Loka Pri Zidanem Mostu Loka pri Zidanem Mostu () is a village on the left bank of the Sava River in the Municipality of Sevnica in central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region. Name The name of the settlement was changed from ''Loka'' to ''Loka pri Zidanem Mostu'' (literally, 'Loka near Zidani Most') in 1952. The toponym ''Loka'' is frequent in Slovenia and comes from the common noun ''loka'' 'flood-meadow', referring to the local geography.
