Zoila Barros
Zoila Barros Fernández (born 6 August 1979) is a retired Cuban female volleyball player who played as a middle blocker. She played for the Cuban women's national volleyball team, and helped the team win a gold medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics and a bronze medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Barros was named Best Spiker at the 2005 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship in Port of Spain, where Cuba was defeated in the final by title defender USA. Club volleyball Barros played for the Italian club Medinex Reggio di Calabria for the 1998-1999 season. She played with the Russian club Uralochka-NTMK for the 2004-2005 season. The 2005 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 19th edition of the volleyball, Women's Continental Volleyball Tournament, played by eight countries from September 6 to September 11, 2005 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The United States won the event over Cuba and qualified for the 2005 FIVB Women's World Grand Champions Cup, 2005 Women's Volleyball Grand Champions Cup, later that year in Japan. 2003 FIVB Women's World Cup
The 2003 FIVB Women's World Cup was held from 1 to 15 November 2003 in Japan. Twelve women's national teams played in cities all over Japan for the right to a fast lane ticket into the 2004 Summer Olympics. Teams were made up as follows: hosts Japan, continental champions and vice-champions from Europe, Asia, NORCECA and South America, continental champion from Africa, and two wild-card teams nominated jointly by the FIVB and the Japan Volleyball Association. WVC Dinamo Moscow (russian: ЖВК Динамо Москва) is a Russian women's volleyball club based in Moscow which is currently playing in the Super League. It was established in 1926 and dissolved in 1992, but was reestablished in 2004. It is the most successful team in Soviet women's volleyball history with fourteen Championship titles and the most successful team in the CEV Women's Champions League history with eleven titles. History Soviet years The club was created in 1926, when Dinamo Moscow decided to establish a women's volleyball section from its sports club. Its first participation in the USSR Championship was 1940, finishing in seventh place.
