Zmiiv Raion () was a raion (district) in Kharkiv Oblast of Ukraine. Its administrative center was the town of Zmiiv. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Kharkiv Oblast to seven. The area of Zmiiv Raion was, together with Pechenihy and Vovchansk Raions, merged into Chuhuiv Raion. Raions of Ukraine (often translated as "districts"; Ukrainian: ра́йон, tr. ''raion''; plural: райо́ни, tr. ''raiony'') are the second level of administrative division in Ukraine, below the oblast. Raions were created in a 1922 administrative reform of the Soviet Union, to which Ukraine, as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, belonged. Zmiiv Urban Hromada
Zmiiv or Zmiyiv ( uk, Зміїв), Zmiev, or Zmeev (), also known as Gotwald ( uk, Готвальд) from 1976 to 1990, is a city in Chuhuiv Raion, Kharkiv, Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Zmiiv urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The population in 2001 was 17,063, rising to by 2021. The town is located 42 km from Kharkiv. Until 2020, Zmiiv was the administrative centre of Zmiiv Raion, before it was merged into Chuhuiv Raion as part of that year's administrative reform. Toponymy The name ''Zmiiv'' or ''Zmiyiv'' ( uk, Зміїв) is almost certainly derived from the Ukrainian word for snakes, ''Zmiji'' ( uk, Змії). Slobozhanske, Chuhuiv Raion, Kharkiv Oblast
Slobozhanske ( uk, Слобожанське, russian: Слобожанское) is an urban-type settlement in Chuhuiv Raion of Kharkiv Oblast in Ukraine. It is located in the valley of the Donets, on its left bank. Slobozhanske hosts the administration of Slobozhanske settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: Until 4 February 2016 the settlement was known as Komsomolske. On that day, Verkhovna Rada adopted decision to rename Komsomolske to Slobozhanske according to the law prohibiting names of Communist origin. The settlement filed a case stating that the opinions of the inhabitants have been ignored; the court decided against the settlement and kept the new name. Chuhuiv Raion () is a ''raion'' (district) in Kharkiv Oblast of Ukraine. Its administrative center is the city of Chuhuiv.
