Zhang Siqing
Zhang Siqing (Chinese: 张思卿; Pinyin: Zhāng Sīqīng; August 1932 – 17 June 2022) was a Chinese politician and magistrate. Biography Zhang was born in Luoyang, Henan, China, in 1932. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1952. He was the President of Hubei High People's Court and Head of Hubei Public Security Bureau, and the Secretary of the Zhengfa Committee of the CPC Hubei Committee from 1983 to 1985. Zhang entered the Supreme People's Procuratorate in 1985 and became an Associate Procurator. He was elected by the National People's Congress as the Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate from 1993 to 1998. Supreme People's Procuratorate
The Supreme People's Procuratorate () is the highest national agency responsible for legal prosecution and investigation in the People's Republic of China. Conceived initially in 1949 as the Supreme People's Prosecutor's Office, the agency was renamed the Supreme People's Procuratorate in 1954. The Procuratorate was abolished during the Cultural Revolution, before being re-instated in 1978. Between the 1990s to 2010s, the agency experienced a host of reforms pertaining to its selection of personnel, internal organization and role in the management of corruption. A high people's court or higher people's court (高级人民法院) is the highest local court in the People's Republic of China. In each province, it is subject to the "People's Congress". According to the ''Organic Law of the People's Courts of the People's Republic of China'', the courts are responsible for issues at the provincial level.
