Alaungpaya ( my, အလောင်းဘုရား, ; also spelled Alaunghpaya or Alaung-Phra; 11 May 1760) was the founder of the Konbaung Dynasty of Burma (Myanmar). By the time of his death from illness during his campaign in Siam, this former chief of a small village in Upper Burma had unified Burma, subdued Manipur, conquered Lan Na and defeated the French and the British who had given help to the Restored Hanthawaddy Kingdom. Zeya (Burmese Actor)
Zeya ( my, ဇေယျ ; 12 June 1916 – 7 October 1996) was a Burmese Academy Award winning film actor and director. He was also a famous body builder. Biography Zeya was born Hla Maung in Nyaunggon village in Upper Burma during the British colonial rule. The 8th of 10 siblings, Zeya left school only third grade to help out with his parents' plantation. He married Than Tin, the daughter of a Mandalay jewellery merchant. They would have nine children. Zeya became a professional body builder. At age 27, Zeya won the Zeyar Maung (Mr. Zeyar) title in 1943 given by Sagaing Body Building Association. In 1946, he won Shwe Man Maung (Mr. Golden Mandalay). Zeya made film debut in 1946. In 1956, he won the Burmese Academy Award in ''Bawa Thanthaya'' (Life's Samsara). Zayar Thaw
Zayar Thaw ( , also called U Phyo Zayar Thaw or Zeya Thaw; 26 March 1981 – 23 July 2022) was a Burmese politician and hip-hop artist who was detained for the perceived anti-government messages of his lyrics. Amnesty International named him a prisoner of conscience. He was a member of Pyithu Hluttaw, the Lower House of the Burmese parliament. He, along with opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi, were elected to the lower house on 1 April 2012. In November 2021 he was arrested by the Myanmar military junta and was sentenced to death in January 2022. In June 2022, the junta announced that his execution was imminent. On 23 July 2022, he and three other democratic activists (among them Kyaw Min Yu) were executed. The Zeya (russian: Зе́я; from indigenous Evenki word "djee" (blade); zh, 结雅; mnc, m= , Mölendroff: jingkiri bira) is a northern, left tributary of the Amur in Amur Oblast, Russia. It is long, and has a drainage basin of . The average flow of the river is . History The first Russian documented to enter the area was Vassili Poyarkov. Course It rises in the Toko-Stanovik mountain ridge, a part of the Stanovoy Range. The Zeya flows through the Zeya Reservoir, at the junction of the Tukuringra Range and Dzhagdy Range, and joins the Amur near Blagoveshchensk, at the border with China. Regulation of river discharge by Zeya Dam mitigates extremities of river flow down to 5000 m³/s. The Zeya contributes around 16% of both the average and maximum flow of de Amur because of the flow regulations. The Zeya Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Zeya River by the town of Zeya, Amur Oblast, Russia, north of the Chinese border. On average the Zeya Hydroelectric Power Station generates 4.91 TWh of electricity per year. It is equipped with 6 hydro-turbines, 4 with capacity of 225 MW and 2 with capacity of 215 MW. Zeya (russian: Зе́я) is a town in Amur Oblast, Russia, located on the Zeya River (a tributary of the Amur) southeast of Tynda and north of Blagoveshchensk. History It was founded in 1879 as the settlement of ''Zeysky Sklad'' (, lit. ''Zeya warehouse''), as a supply and administrative center for the exploitation of newly discovered gold deposits in the Zeya River basin.
