Zev John
Zev John (born 14 June 1998) is a Papua New Guinean professional rugby league footballer who plays as a forward for the Central Queensland Capras in the Queensland Cup and at international level. Early life John was born in Mount Hagen, Papua New Guinea and moved to Australia in 2015. He played junior rugby league for Altona Roosters and then graduated into the Victoria under 20’s in 2017. He was part of the Melbourne Storm development squad from 2016-18. Career John then made his Queensland Cup, Queensland Intrust Cup debut for Redcliffe Dolphins. He made his international debut for Papua New Guinea national rugby league team, Papua New Guinea in their 24-6 defeat by Samoa national rugby league team, Samoa in the 2019 Oceania Cup. John joined the Mackay Cutters for the 2020 season. Western Highlands Province
Western Highlands is a province of Papua New Guinea. The provincial capital is Mount Hagen. The province covers an area of 4,299 km2, and there are 362,850 inhabitants (2011 census), making the Western Highlands the most densely populated province (apart from the National Capital District). Tea and coffee are grown in the Western Highlands. Split to create Jiwaka Province In July 2009, Parliament passed legislation to create two new provinces by 2012. One of these was to be created by removing Jimi District, North Waghi District, and the South Waghi part of Anglimp-South Waghi District from the Western Highlands Province to form the new Jiwaka Province. 2019 Oceania Cup
The 2019 Oceania Cup was the inaugural edition of the Oceania Cup. Contested by six teams, the competition began in June and concluded in November. The competition was announced at the Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) congress in November 2018. The draw was released in March and breaks the six teams into two separate pools with promotion and relegation to exist in what is to become an annual tournament. Group A will comprise the top three ranked Pacific nations in , and while Group B will comprise , and . The Mackay Cutters are a semi-professional rugby league football club based in Mackay, Queensland. They compete in Queensland's top rugby league competition, the Queensland Cup. The club was admitted to the Queensland Cup in 2007, alongside the Northern Pride, and first competed in the 2008 season.
