Zev Bellringer
Zev or Xev is a fictional character from the sci-fi television series ''Lexx''. The character of Zev was portrayed by three actresses during the series' run and the character of Zev has had three incarnations. Zev's character was originally played by Lisa Hynes, after which she was portrayed by Eva Habermann and Xenia Seeberg. Habermann portrayed Zev for the first six episodes of the series, after which the character was renamed Xev and portrayed by Seeberg. Background The character was born on the planet B3K, where she was sold by her parents to the Wife Bank. During her initial years Zev was raised by computers that taught her to become a perfect wife. As a result, the character became overweight and was rejected by her bridegroom. Zev was then sentenced to become a love slave by being run through a device called the Lusticon, intended to transform her into a beautiful and brainless servant. ''Lexx'' (also known as ''LEXX: The Dark Zone Stories'' and ''Tales from a Parallel Universe'') is a science fiction television series created by Lex Gigeroff and brothers Paul and Michael Donovan. It originally aired on April 18, 1997, on Canada's Citytv as four made-for-TV movies. Beginning with season two, the format changed to a traditional TV series with each episode running 45 minutes long. ''Paul Donovan is a Canadian television and film writer, director and producer best known as the creator of the science-fiction TV series ''LEXX''. He co-founded Salter Street Films (SSF) with his brother Michael Donovan. Biography Donovan was born in Canada on June 26, 1954. He grew up interested in science and film, and earned a B.Sc. in Physics from Dalhousie University, and graduated from London Film School. In 2009 he was awarded an honorary doctorate of Law from Dalhousie. Eva Habermann
Eva Felicitas Habermann (born 16 January 1976) is a German actress who has appeared in numerous films and TV series. She is best known for playing the role of Zev Bellringer in the television series ''Lexx''. While studying for (the German equivalent of) her Senior High School diploma ("Advanced Placement" courses only), Habermann received singing and dancing lessons. Soon after graduation, she obtained her first television role in ''Lexx''. She also moderated the children ''Pumuckl TV'' broadcast on German TV (1995/1996). ''Lexx'' was on a two year hiatus between seasons 1 and 2. During this time Habermann appeared in the ZDF series ''Rosa Roth'' and the ARD series ''Gegen den Wind'' as well as appearing in the Rosamunde Pilcher film ''Two Sisters''. Xenia Seeberg
Xenia Seeberg (born Anke Wesenberg; 4 April 1967) is a German film and television actress. She is perhaps best known for her role as Xev Bellringer in the science fiction television series ''Lexx''. She also debuted as a singer in 1996 on the EMI Electrola label with her maxi single "Heartbeat". Several of her songs, including "Heartbeat", have appeared on compilations such as ''Dance Fever'' (1996), ''Dancemania 4'' (1997) and ''Absolute Music 20'' (1999).DiscogsXenia/ref> From 2003 to 2011, she was married to actor Sven Martinek.
