Zervreilasee
__NOTOC__ Zervreilasee is a reservoir located south-west of Vals in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. Geography The lake has a surface area of 1.61 km² and an elevation of 1,862 m. The maximum depth is 140 m. The dam is 151 m high and was completed in 1957. The village of Zervreila was flooded after the construction of the dam. A 150-metre-long bridge (''Canalbrücke'') crosses the southern bay of the lake. The Zervreilasee, located near the upper end of the Valser Tal, is surrounded by peaks over 3,000 metres. The highest visible from the lake is the Güferhorn (3,379 m), located on the south side. Other peaks are the Fanellhorn (3,124 m), the Frunthorn (3,030 m), Piz Scharboda (3,122 m), the Plattenberg (3,041 m) and the Furggeltihorn (3,043 m). The Zervreilahorn is a sharp peak overlooking the lake from its south-west side. Güferhorn
The Güferhorn is a mountain in the Lepontine Alps, located between the valleys of Vals, Switzerland, Vals and Hinterrhein, Switzerland, Hinterrhein in Graubünden. At 3,379 metres above sea level it is the highest summit of the Lepontine Alps lying east of the Rheinwaldhorn. The northern side of the massif is covered by the Güfergletscher, a 2 kilometres long glacier. It lies above 2,600 metres on the east side of a ridge starting at the summit of the Güferhorn and separating the valleys of Länta and Canaltal, both converging at the Zervreilasee, south of Vals. This is a list of high-altitude lakes in Switzerland. It includes all significant lakes, natural or artificial, with an area over 4 hectares and a height over 800 metres above sea level. This height approximately corresponds to the transition between the foothill zone and the montane zone, in the Alps and in the Jura Mountains. Fanellhorn
The Fanellhorn is a mountain in the Lepontine Alps of Graubünden, Switzerland, south of Vals. Its summit can be reached by hikers using a signposted path that comes from Guraletschsee and reaches the ridge "Fanellgrätli" on 2710 meters, leading to the peak from northeast (Swiss grade T4, signposted blue and white from point 2710, before it is red and white and T2). This is a possible extension to a popular hike starting at Zervreila, that passes the three lakes Guraletschsee, Amperveilsee and Selvasee and descends via Selva Alp to Vals. Vals is famous for its spa. In winter it is a popular summit for enthusiasts of Ski touring Ski touring is skiing in the backcountry on unmarked or unpatrolled areas.
