Zertifikat Deutsch
The Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD) is an internationally recognized exam of German language ability. It tests for a level of ability equivalent to level B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale. Candidates typically need between 300 and 600 hours of instruction in German in order to obtain the necessary fluency to pass the ''Zertifikat Deutsch'' exam. Some organizations have changed the name of this exam, for example the Goethe-Institut, which has called it ''Goethe-Zertifikat B1'' since May 2013, but others still use the original name. The ''Zertifikat Deutsch'' exam is tailored to the needs of adult students of German, regardless of whether they are inside or outside a German-speaking country. Common European Framework Of Reference For Languages
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment, abbreviated in English as CEFR or CEF or CEFRL, is a guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe and, increasingly, in other countries. The CEFR is also intended to make it easier for educational institutions and employers to evaluate the language qualifications of candidates for education admission or employment. Its main aim is to provide a method of learning, teaching, and assessing that applies to all languages in Europe. It was put together by the Council of Europe as the main part of the project "Language Learning for European Citizenship" between 1989 and 1996. The European Language Certificates
The European Language Certificates (TELC; also known as TELC language tests) are international standardised tests of ten languages. telc GmbH is a non-profit language test, examination and certificate provider based in Frankfurt am Main. A subsidiary of the German Adult Education Association (DVV), it is the primary examination provider around the world for standardized TELC language tests. telc GmbH offers more than 70 different TELC certificates, including general language and vocational examinations and tests for students. The Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom (formerly ''Zeugnis über die Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung'') is a Goethe-Institut certificate proving high-level German language ability. The ''Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung'' (; ZOP) has been integrated into the ''Goethe-Zertifikat C2'' as of 1 January 2012. The ZOP is rated at level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the highest of the CEFR levels, signalling a level of language ability comparable to an educated native speaker.
