Zero (Bump Of Chicken Song)
is a song by Japanese rock band Bump of Chicken. Created as the theme song of the 2011 role-playing video game '' Final Fantasy Type-0'', it was released by Toy's Factory on October 19, 2011 as a single with their earlier track "Smile". The song was written by band member Motoo Fujiwara, with band producer MOR and Bump of Chicken as a whole arranging and producing. It later featured in two of Bump of Chicken's live concerts, and as a track on the 2014 album '' Ray''. The band, who were fans of the ''Final Fantasy'' series, were contacted about providing the ''Type-0'' theme song in June 2010. Fujiwara wrote the song over two days in January 2011 inspired by early promotional art featuring the characters holding their weapons. He also recorded a version for acoustic guitar to be used in the game's opening. is a Japanese alternative rock group from Sakura, Chiba, Japan. The band members are Motoo Fujiwara (vocals, rhythm), Hiroaki Masukawa (guitar), Yoshifumi Naoi (bass) and Hideo Masu (drums). Nobuo Uematsu
is a Japanese composer and keyboardist best known for his contributions to the ''Final Fantasy'' video game series by Square Enix. A self-taught musician, he began playing the piano at the age of twelve, with English singer-songwriter Elton John as one of his biggest influences. Mellotron
The Mellotron is an electro-mechanical musical instrument developed in Birmingham, England, in 1963. It is played by pressing its keys, each of which pushes a length of magnetic tape against a capstan, which pulls it across a playback head. As the key is released, the tape is retracted by a spring to its initial position. Different portions of the tape can be played to access different sounds. The Mellotron evolved from the similar Chamberlin, but could be mass-produced more efficiently. The first models were designed for the home and contained a variety of sounds, including automatic accompaniments. Bandleader Eric Robinson and television personality David Nixon helped promote the first instruments, and celebrities such as Princess Margaret were early adopters.
