Zenit-Kazan
VC Zenit-Kazan (russian: Зенит-Казань), until 2008 known as Dinamo Tattransgaz Kazan (russian: Динамо-Таттрансгаз), is a professional men's volleyball team based in Kazan, Russia. It plays in the Super League (10-time champion). The team won the 2007–08, 2011–12, 2014–15, 2015-16, 2016-17, and 2017-18 CEV Champions League titles, thus being the most-titled club in its new history. 2014–15 CEV Champions League
The 2014–15 CEV Champions League was the 56th edition of the highest level European volleyball club competition organised by the European Volleyball Confederation. Participating teams League round 28 teams have been drawn to 7 pools of 4 teams each. In each pool, the competition is organised on the basis of a double round-robin system. Each team will thus play 6 matches: twice against each opponent. In the League Round, the placing of the teams is determined by the number of matches won. In case of a tie in the number of matches won by two or more teams, they will be ranked on the basis of the following criteria: *match points; *set quotient (the number of total sets won divided by the number of total sets lost); *points quotient (the number of total points scored divided by the number of total points lost); *results of head-to-head matches between the teams in question. The 2011–12 CEV Champions League was the 53rd edition of the highest level European volleyball club competition organised by the European Volleyball Confederation. Participating teams League round 24 teams were drawn to 6 pools of 4 teams each. The 1st – 2nd ranked qualified for the Playoffs 12. The organizer of the Final Four were determined after the end of the League Round and qualified directly for the Final Four. The 2007–08 CEV Champions League was the 49th edition of the highest level European volleyball club competition organised by the European Volleyball Confederation. Participating teams League round 24 teams will be drawn to 6 pools of 4 teams each. The 1st – 2nd ranked will qualify for the Play-off 12 teams. If the organizer of the final four is one of the above qualified teams in this case this team directly qualifies for the final four and the 3rd ranked team with the best score will also qualify for the Play-off 12 teams (replaces the organizer of the Final Four Tournament). CEV Champions League
The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. Formula (2018–19 to present) Qualification A total of 20 teams participate in the main competition, with 18 teams being allocated direct vacancies on the basis of ranking list for European Cup Competitions, and 2 teams from the qualification rounds. League round 20 teams take part in the League round where they are split in to 5 groups. 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship
The 2017 FIVB Men's Club World Championship was the 13th edition of the tournament. It was held in Poland for the first time from 12 to 17 December 2017. Eight teams competed in the tournament, including two wild cards. Russia's Zenit Kazan defeated Italy's Cucine Lube Civitanova in the final and won the title for the first time. Brazil's Sada Cruzeiro claimed the bronze medal by defeating Poland's PGE Skra Bełchatów in the 3rd place match. Osmany Juantorena from Cucine Lube Civitanova was elected the Most Valuable Player. The 2016 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship was the 12th edition of the event. It was held in Betim, Brazil from 18 to 23 October 2016. Brazil's Sada Cruzeiro defeated Russia's Zenit Kazan in the final and won FIVB Men’s Club World Championship for the second time in a row and third on their history. Aleksey Verbov
Aleksey Igorevich Verbov (russian: Алексей Игоревич Вербов, born 31 January 1982) is a retired Russian volleyball player, a former member of Russia men's national volleyball team and the Russian club Zenit Kazan. He is currently coaching the men's Zenit Kazan team. With the Russian men's national team, he won the gold medal at the 2013 Men's European Volleyball Championship played in Denmark and Poland. He won the award as Best Libero in the tournament. He also won the bronze medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. He played with Lokomotiv Belgorod winning the bronze medal at the 2005–06 CEV Champions League; he won the award "Best Libero" also in this tournament.
