Her parents were James P. Keefe and Allie Turbiville Keefe. When Keefe was three years old, she appeared in a production of ''Brownies in Fairyland''. She was educated at a convent in San Francisco until she and her parents moved to New York. Career For three seasons, Keefe portrayed Little Mother in a touring production of ''The Fatal Wedding''. She left the theater to appear in films with Vitagraph, but after less than a year with that company she began performing as a featured attraction in Keith Vaudeville. ''The Broken Violin'' is an American film that was released in 1923. It was directed by John Francis Dillon. It was produced by Atlantic Features and distributed by Arrow Film Corporation It is a melodrama. A 1923 publication described the film as "heart interest laid on thick." Plot ''Variety'' wrote, "The story is of an imposter endeavoring to secure the millions rightfully belonging to another. Proxies is a 1921 American silent drama film feature produced by Cosmopolitan Productions and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It was directed by George D. Baker and starred Norman Kerry. Plot As described in a film publication summary, Carlotta Darley (Dean) is engaged to Homer Carleton (Crosby), but regrets that Homer is not as tall and handsome as the butler Peter (Kerry). Her father Christopher Darley (Tooker) was aware that Peter was a former crook but believes that he has reformed. Clare Conway (Keefe), the household maid, is in love with Peter and jealous of Carlotta's admiration of him.
