Kaspar Zehnder (born 27 August 1970 in Riggisberg, Canton of Bern) is a Swiss conductor and flutist. He studied classical languages at the Lyceum in Bern and music at the University of the Arts Bern. His music teachers included Heidi Indermühle (flute), Ewald Körner (conducting), Agathe Rytz-Jaggi (piano) and Peter Streiff and Arthur Furer ( music theory). He further took conducting master classes with Ralf Weikert, Werner-Andreas Albert and Horst Stein. He also studied chamber music and was a member of the Mozart European Academy, where his main mentor was Aurèle Nicolet. Zehnder gained his first conducting experience with the ''Kammerorchester Neufeld Bern'' and the ''Burgdorfer Kammerorchester''. Jean-Claude Zehnder (born 1941) is a Swiss organist in church and concert, harpsichordist, and musicologist. In research and playing, he is focused on Baroque music, and has played and recorded at historic organs in Europe. He led the department for organ at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis from 1972 to 2006. His publications include books and music editions, such as organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach. Alexander Zehnder
Alexander Jakob Boris Zehnder (born 21 February 1946) is a Swiss microbiologist. He spent most of his career as professor of microbiology at Wageningen University & Research (1982–1992) and later as professor of environmental biotechnology at ETH Zurich (1992–2004). Zehnder also was director of the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology during this latter period. From 2004 until 2008 he was President of the ETH Board. Career Zehnder was born on 21 February 1946 in Goldach. He studied natural sciences at ETH Zurich where he graduated in 1971. Zehnder subsequently moved to Rabat, Morocco, where he worked as a consultant for the World Health Organization until 1973.
