António Zeferino
António Carlos Pina Zeferino (born 17 January 1966) is a Cape Verdean athlete, specializing in long-distance running, marathon and half marathon. Zeferino, a three-time Olympian, first competed for Cape Verde in a meet in Maia, Portugal setting a national record in the 3000 metres steeplechase which still stands today. The following year at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Zeferino made history along with Henry Andrade and Isménia do Frederico by becoming the first athletes to represent the tiny African nation at the Olympic Games. In the men's marathon he finished 94th in a time of 2:34:13. The following year he competed in the 1997 World Championships, finishing 37th in the marathon with a time of 2:25:56. Two years later in February 1999, Zeferino recorded his best ever time in the marathon at the Sevilla Marathon finishing in 2:23:16. Zeferino Vaz
Zeferino Vaz (May 27, 1908 – February 19, 1981) led the construction, establishment and development of the Unicamp university, in the interior of the State of São Paulo, Brazil in the 1960s and 1970s. The main campus is named after Zeferino, who strived to bring together some of Brazil's best scientists to form a recognised research institution. Zeferino was born and lived his childhood in São Paulo. He attended the Medicine school of the University of São Paulo and got his M.D. degree in 1932, with specializations in Parasitology, Parasitic Diseases, Biology, Genetics and Zoology. Shortly after his graduation, Zeferino became professor of Zoology and Parasitology in the Veterinary Medicine School of the University of São Paulo. Zeferino Paulo Borges Soares (born 27 August 1978), known simply as Zeferino, is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a striker. Football career Zeferino was born in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau. Aged 17, he was bought by Real Madrid from F.C. Porto, but never played for the first team, going on to appear three seasons for the reserve side Real Madrid Castilla while also serving two second division loans in Spain. Zeferino Nandayapa (born 26 August 1931, Copainalá – died 28 December 2010, Tlalnepantla) was a Mexican folk and classical marimba player. In Mexico City, his classical music teachers were Blas Galindo, María García Genda, Carlos Chávez and Carlos Jiménez Mabarak. He formed the Marimba Nandayapa in 1956, a popular marimba band that has traveled to several countries performing Mexican and Latin-American folk music. Zeferino Nandayapa has been a soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, and the Community of Madrid Orchestra. Zeferino Peña Cuéllar
Zeferino Peña Cuéllar, also known as Don Zefe, is a Mexican suspected drug lord and high-ranking member of the Gulf Cartel, a criminal group based in Tamaulipas, Mexico. He was part of the cartel during the 1990s, and was a trusted enforcer of former kingpins Gilberto García Mena and Osiel Cárdenas Guillén. From 1999 to 2001, he served as the municipal police chief of Miguel Alemán. Peña Cuéllar reportedly relied on corrupt Mexican military officials to run drug trafficking activities in Tamaulipas. This group of military officers would later become the foundation for the creation of Los Zetas, the Gulf Cartel's former paramilitary group originally made up of ex-soldiers. Carlos Zeferino Torreblanca Galindo (born March 14, 1954 in Guadalajara, Jalisco) is a Mexican politician previously affiliated with the Party of the Democratic Revolution now affiliated with the (Labor Party) and former Governor of Guerrero. Zeferino González (28 January 1831 – 29 November 1894) was a Spanish Dominican theologian, and philosopher, Archbishop of Seville and Cardinal. Life On 28 November 1844, in the College of Ocania, González entered the Dominican Order, and a year later took his solemn vows. He was sent to Manila in 1848 to complete his studies, and in January 1853, he was made a lector of philosophy. The following year he was ordained priest. After teaching philosophy and theology for many years in the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, he returned to Spain in 1867, where, the year following, he was elected rector of Ocania College, discharging the duties of this office for three years.
