Zauriel
Zauriel is a fictional superhero in the DC Universe. Originally a guardian angel who served Heaven for millions of years, he willingly falls to Earth to serve humanity as their champion and joins the Justice League. Publication history Zauriel first appeared in '' JLA'' #6 and was created by Grant Morrison, Mark Millar, Howard Porter, and John Dell. In his first appearance, he saved Aquaman's life, over time forming a close friendship with him, and helped the Justice League thwart and dispel the forces of the renegade angel Asmodel. Creation and concept Grant Morrison created Zauriel during their tenure as writer of ''JLA'' but was forbidden from using their originally intended name of Hawkman. Hawkman
Hawkman is the name of several superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Dennis Neville, the original Hawkman first appeared in ''Flash Comics'' #1, published by All-American Publications in 1940. Several incarnations of Hawkman have appeared in DC Comics, all of them characterized by the use of archaic weaponry and by large, artificial wings, attached to a harness made from the special Nth metal that allows flight. Most incarnations of Hawkman work closely with a partner/romantic interest named Hawkgirl or Hawkwoman. Shadowpact
The Shadowpact is a fictional group of magic-based heroes who fought against the Spectre in the 2005 limited series ''Day of Vengeance'', published by DC Comics. They are a sort of Justice League for the supernatural elements of the DC Universe. Some of the team members are ''Homo magi''. Their self-titled series ended in May 2008, after 25 issues and a two-year run, but the team appeared in the '' Reign in Hell'' miniseries three months later. History The group is founded on a spur of the moment impulse by Enchantress, Ragman, and Detective Chimp to get rid of the Spectre because of his decision to destroy all magic in the universe. They are joined by Blue Devil, Nightshade, and Nightmaster, who christens the group the "Shadowpact". Mark Millar
Mark Millar (; born 24 December 1969) is a Scottish comic book writer and television producer who first came to prominence with a run on the superhero series '' The Authority'', published by DC Comics' Wildstorm imprint. Millar has written extensively for Marvel Comics, including runs on ''The Ultimates'', which has been called "the comic book of the decade" by ''Time'' magazine and described as a major inspiration for the 2012 film '' The Avengers'' by its screenwriter Zak Penn, ''X-Men'', '' Fantastic Four'' and ''Avengers'' for Marvel's Ultimate imprint, as well as ''Marvel Knights Spider-Man'' and ''Wolverine''. ''JLA'' was a monthly comic book published by DC Comics from January 1997 to April 2006 featuring the Justice League of America (JLA, Justice League). The series restarted DC's approach to the Justice League, which had initially featured most of the company's top-tier superheroes but shifted in the 1980s to featuring a rotating cast of established characters alongside newer ones and also saw that franchise expand to several spin-off series, diluting the prestige of the name brand. The Justice League Dark, or JLD, is a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team would make their debut appearance in ''Justice League Dark'' #1 (September 2011). The Justice League Dark team features some of the more supernatural characters in the DC Universe, handling mystical threats and situations deamed outside the scope of the traditional Justice League. Similarly to the ''Justice League'' title, the team features well-known characters such as John Constantine, Zatanna, Batman, Doctor Fate, and Wonder Woman while also bringing exposure to lesser-known supernatural characters. ''Hawkworld'' is a comic book series published by American company DC Comics from 1989 to 1993. The initial storyline was published as a three-issue mini-series and then, based on the high sales and interest level generated by this limited series, launched as an ongoing monthly book. Katar Hol and Shayera Thal were rebooted in the prestige format limited series. Publication history The three-issue limited series written and drawn by Timothy Truman and inked by Enrique Alcatena was published in 1989. The ongoing series lasted for four years (1990–1993) and included 32 issues, along with 3 annuals. Hawkman (Katar Hol) is a DC Comics superhero. He is the Silver Age of Comic Books, Silver Age, Bronze Age of Comic Books, Bronze Age and New 52 Hawkman. Created by Gardner Fox and Joe Kubert, he first appeared in ''The Brave and the Bold'' #34 (February–March 1961). There are two versions of Katar Hol, the Silver Age/Pre-Crisis version and the post-''Hawkworld''/Post-Crisis version.
