''Hotel Pacific'' ( pl, Zaklęte rewiry) is a 1975 Polish drama film directed by Janusz Majewski. It was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival. Plot A jobless youth from upcountry, Roman (Kondrat), whose belongings are crammed into a single suitcase is wandering through a midden-littered alleyway when he chances upon a well-dressed, mustachioed middle-aged man kicking out another glum-looking young man from the backdoor of a large hotel. The time is the 1920s or the 1930s. Once the moustachioed man goes back inside the doorway, Roman approaches just in time to catch an even better dressed middle-aged man, whom he asks for a job. This man turns out to be Albin, nephew of Hotel Pacific owner Pancer (Randa), who hires Roman on the spot. Roman is taken inside to serve as a busboy and is roomed with the diminutive Fryc (Skamene), also a young man from the country, who very quickly introduces him to the hierarchy and rules among the hotel's kitchen staff. Stanisław Zaczyk (26 September 1923 – 6 April 1985) was a Polish theatre and film actor. He was awarded the Polonia Restituta in 1969. Biography Zaczyk was born in Nowy Sącz, Poland. In 1945, he graduated from the Theatre Studio near The Old Theatre, Kraków. In the same year, he made his acting debut in Pierre Corneille's ''Le Cid'' portraying a page in the stages of The Old Theatre. From 1946 through 1950, he performed on stages in Jelenia Góra and Wrocław. He then returned to Kraków and became an actor at the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre. Since 1960, Zaczyk acted on Warsaw theatre stages such as Narodowy Theatre (1960–1963, 1965–1968), The Polish Theatre (1963–1965), Ataneum Theatre (1969–1974), and the Powszechny Theatre (1974–1975). Bronislav Poloczek ( pl, Bronisław Poloczek) (7 August 1939 – 16 March 2012) was a Polish-Czech theatre and television actor. Poloczek was born in Horní Suchá (Sucha Górna). He was best known for his appearances with the Prague National Theatre. He also appeared in various Czech television series, including ''Ulice'' and '' Hospoda''; and many films, including '' Černí baroni''. In 2012, he died in Prague, aged 72. Personal life Poloczek was a member of the Polish minority in the Czech Republic, always emphasizing his belonging to the Polish nation. In 1956 Poloczek graduated from the Juliusz Słowacki Polish Grammar School. He was married to Zdenka. The couple had a son Bronislav. His wife died in 1995.
