Zakkari Dempster
Zakkari Dempster (born 27 September 1987) is an Australian former professional racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 2006 and 2019 for the SouthAustralia.com–AIS, , , , and teams. Dempster now works as a directeur sportif for , the development team for UCI WorldTeam . He was selected for the 2014 Tour de France finishing the race in 151st position on the General Classification. Outside of cycling Dempster worked part-time as a fitness coach with Australian rules football team Carlton Football Club during the southern hemisphere summer between 2010 and 2013. Cancer Council Helpline Classic
The Down Under Classic (currently known as the Schwalbe Classic, and previously known as the People's Choice Classic and Cancer Council Helpline Classic for sponsorship reasons), is a criterium around Rymill Park in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. It precedes the Tour Down Under. History Since the very first Tour Down Under in 1999, there has been a history of city-based circuit racing in Adelaide. For several years the Tour Down Under featured a race around the East End of Adelaide and through the centre of Adelaide around King William Street. The Down Under Classic was developed to retain a cycling race in the city from 2006 due to rules preventing the number of small circuit races in a multi-day stage race. The Tour of Japan is an annual professional road bicycle racing stage race held in Japan since 1996 as part of the UCI Asia Tour. It is sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI) as a 2.1 category race. History Tour of Japan was formed as the successor of the Kokusai Cycle Road Race which began in 1982. In 1996, Tour of Japan began as a UCI category 2-5 stage race, and became category 2–4 in 1997. It was downgraded to category 2–5 in 2002. As the UCI race system was reformed in 2005, it was included in the UCI Asia Tour as a category 2.2 event. It became a category 2.1 event in 2013.
