Zakir Hasan (born 1 February 1998) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who plays for Sylhet Division. He made his international debut for the Bangladesh cricket team in February 2018. Domestic Career Zakir made his first-class debut on 18 September 2015 in the National Cricket League. In December 2015, he was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his Twenty20 (T20) debut on 8 November 2016 playing for Chittagong Vikings in the 2016–17 Bangladesh Premier League. In January 2018, Zakir scored 211 batting for East Zone against Central Zone, in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League, his maiden double century in first-class cricket. The Chattogram Challengers ( Chittagonian/ bn, চট্টগ্রাম চ্যালেঞ্জার্স) is a franchise cricket team which participates in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The franchise was founded in 2012 & based on Chattogram City, Chattogram. Franchise history The Chattogram franchise joined the BPL as one of its original members in 2012, and appeared in the final in 2013 under the captaincy of Mahmudullah Riyad and coaching of Khaled Mahmud. The team changed its name from Chittagong Kings after a change of ownership in 2015. And Chittagong Vikings was founded 1 December 2015. It was owned by DBL Sports Limited, a concern of DBL Group. DBL Sports Limited terminated the ownership of the team on 29 July 2019. The Rangpur Riders ( Rangpuriya/ bn, রংপুর রাইডার্স), is a professional cricket team based in Rangpur City, Rangpur. The Riders, compete in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the premier cricket league in Bangladesh. The Rangpur Riders, joined the league as a member in 2013, prior to the second edition of the tournament. Although the ownership of the team changed multiple times, the team structure stayed at its original form since the foundation of the team. 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup
The 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup was the fourth edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup held in Bangladesh between 14 and 23 November 2019. Eight teams participated in the tournament, including five under-23 age level teams of Test nations and the top three teams from the 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier. The tournament was organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Nepal replaced the United Arab Emirates, after they pulled out due to an unknown reason. Nepal qualified on virtue of being fourth in the Asia Cup qualifier. Pakistan won the tournament, beating Bangladesh by 77 runs in the final. 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup
The 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup was the third edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup held in Karachi, Pakistan and Colombo, Sri Lanka. Eight teams participated in the tournament including five under-23 age level teams of Test nations and top three teams from 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier. This tournament was organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Initially, Pakistan was sole host for the tournament but India and BCCI refused to send Indian players to Pakistan. Following the increasing political tensions between India and Pakistan, ACC announced that Sri Lanka would be the co-host whilst India's matches and knockout stage will be played there. 2018 Asia Cup
The 2018 Asia Cup (also known as Unimoni Asia Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a One-Day International (ODI) cricket tournament that was held in the United Arab Emirates in September 2018. It was the 14th edition of the Asia Cup and the third time the tournament was played in the United Arab Emirates, after the 1984 and 1995 tournaments. India were the defending champions, and retained their title, after beating Bangladesh by three wickets in the final. The Sri Lanka cricket team toured Bangladesh in January and February 2018 to play two Tests and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Prior to the tour, both teams played in a tri-series, along with Zimbabwe. In December 2017, Shakib Al Hasan was named as the new captain of Bangladesh's Test squad, replacing Mushfiqur Rahim. However, ahead of the Test series, Shakib suffered a hand injury during the final of the 2017–18 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series, with Mahmudullah named as captain of Bangladesh for the first Test. A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. The 2018–19 BPL season, also known as BPL 6 or UCB BPL 2019 Powered by TVS (for sponsorship reasons), was the sixth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top level professional Twenty20 cricket franchise league in Bangladesh. 2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League
The 2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League was the sixth edition of the Bangladesh Cricket League, a first-class cricket competition. It was held in Bangladesh, starting on 6 January 2018 and concluding on 27 April 2018. North Zone were the defending champions. In round two of the tournament, Tushar Imran scored his 10,000th run in first-class cricket and Abdur Razzak took his 500th first-class wicket. This was the first time either of these landmarks had been reached in Bangladesh cricket.
