Zainal Bakar
Zainal Bakar (16 August 1940 – 31 July 2012) was an Indonesian politician and bureaucrat who served as the governor of West Sumatra between 2000 and 2005. Prior to becoming governor, he served as the regent of Padang Pariaman between 1990 and 1993, and had been part of the province's bureaucracy since 1967. Early life and education Zainal was born on 16 August 1940 in Pariaman. He graduated from the faculty of law at Andalas University in 1967. Career After graduating, Zainal began to work as a civil servant. In 1972, he was appointed as the acting regional secretary for Agam Regency, and he was officially appointed to that post in 1976. He later became head of human resources in the provincial government (1981), and then head of the economics office and the development office during the 1980s. Minangkabau International Airport
Minangkabau International Airport ( id, Bandar Udara Internasional Minangkabau), is the principal airport serving the province of West Sumatra on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. It is located at Ketaping, Padang Pariaman Regency which is about 23 km north-west of Padang city center. The airport became operational in July 2005, replacing the old Tabing Airport in Padang. The airport is named after the Minangkabau ethnic group who inhabit the region. History Minangkabau International Airport is located 23 km from the center of the city of Padang, occupying an area of 427 hectares as the main gateway to West Sumatra. The airport was built in 2001, replacing Tabing Airport, which had been operating for 34 years. Kelok 9 or Kelok Sembilan is a winding road segment located about 30 km east of Payakumbuh, in the West Sumatera province of Indonesia. Kelok Sembilan means 9 sharp turns. This road stretches through Jorong Aie Putiah, Nagari Sarilamak, Harau sub-district of Lima Puluh Kota Regency of West Sumatera and is part of the interconnecting road link between Central Sumatra and the East Coast of Sumatra.
