Zaid Abbas
Zaid Abbaas (Arabic: زيد عباس; born November 21, 1983 in Nablus) is a Jordanian retired professional basketball player. He last played for Al Ahli of the Jordanian Premier Basketball League. He also was a member of the Jordan men's national basketball team. Abbaas competed with the Jordanian team at the FIBA Asia Championship 2007 and FIBA Asia Championship 2009. In 2009, Abbaas helped the Jordanian team to a national best third-place finish by averaging 13.8 points and a team-leading 8.8 rebounds per game. The third-place finish meant that Jordan qualified for its first ever FIBA World Championship. On the heels of his strong 2009 Asia Championship performance, Abbaas signed with Chinese Basketball Association team Shanghai Sharks, where he spent the 2009-10 season. Forward (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Fujian SBS Xunxing Sturgeons (Simplified Chinese: 福建SBS浔兴鲟) or Fujian Xunxing or Fujian SBS are a Chinese professional men's basketball team in the Chinese Basketball Association, based in Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Fujian. The "SBS" reflects corporate sponsorship from the Jinjiang-based Fujian SBS Zipper Science and Technology Corporation. The Beijing Shougang Ducks (''simplified Chinese'': 北京首钢鸭俱乐部篮球队), also known as Beijing Shougang or Beijing Ducks, are a professional basketball team based in Beijing, China, which plays in the North Division of the Chinese Basketball Association. The Shanghai Sharks () are a Chinese Basketball Association team based in Shanghai. It is best known outside China as the club that developed Yao Ming before he entered the National Basketball Association. With Yao on the team, the Sharks made the finals for three seasons in a row (in 1999–2000, 2000–01, and 2001–02), facing the Bayi Rockets each time. They were runners-up the first two years, but won the CBA championship for the first time on their third try, snapping a string of six Bayi Rockets championships in a row.
