Zach Tom
Zachary Miskom Tom (born March 26, 1999) is an American football offensive tackle for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wake Forest and was drafted by the Packers in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Early years Tom was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana grew up in Prairieville, Louisiana, and attended Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. College career Tom was a member of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons for five seasons and redshirted his true freshman season. He became the team's starting center going into his redshirt sophomore season and was named honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) after starting all 13 of Wake Forest's games. Tom moved to left tackle the following season and started nine games. He was named first-team All-ACC in 2021. The Southern Miss Golden Eagles football program represents the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. They play college football in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. The Eagles are currently members of the Sun Belt Conference and play their home games at M. M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. History Early history (1912–1974) Southern Miss first fielded a football team in 1912, coached by Ronald Slay. That team posted a 2–1 record. A. B. Dille coached the Golden Eagles from 1914 to 1916, posting a record of 6–10–1. USM did not field a football team from 1917 to 1919 because of World War I. Cameron Shainaan Tom (born June 21, 1995) is an American football center who is a free agent. He played college football at Southern Miss and signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Early years Tom attended and played high school football at Catholic High School. He played offensive guard for the Bears. Concussions and play-related head blows in American football have been shown to be the cause of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), which has led to player deaths and other debilitating symptoms after retirement, including memory loss, depression, anxiety, headaches, stress, and sleep disturbances. The list of ex-NFL players that have either been diagnosed ''post-mortem'' with CTE or have reported symptoms of CTE continues to grow. According to Boston University, CTE is a brain degenerative disease found in athletes, military veterans, and others with history of repetitive brain trauma.
