Zach McWhorter
Zach McWhorter (born 7 January 1999) is an American pole vaulter. At the 2023 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships he placed second behind Olympic silver medalist Chris Nilsen, with a clearance of 5.86 m. This earned him a spot on the United States team at the 2023 World Athletics Championships, where he would go on to place 8th overall. McWhorter has set the record for the top left-handed pole vault clearance, surpassing the previous mark of 5.80m set by Australian Olympic pole vaulter Simon Arkell. Career As a prep at Har-Ber High School, McWhorter was a four-time Arkansas Activities Association state champion in the pole vault, and placed second at the New Balance Nationals Indoor championship meet. In 2016, he won the USATF under-18 championships in the pole vault. McWhorter signed with the BYU Cougars track and field team, and started competing in late 2019 after his Mormon misson. Pole vaulting, also known as pole jumping, is a track and field event in which an athlete uses a long and flexible pole, usually made from fiberglass or carbon fiber, as an aid to jump over a bar. Pole jumping competitions were known to the Mycenaean Greeks, Minoan Greeks and Celts. It has been a full medal event at the Olympic Games since 1896 for men and since 2000 for women. It is typically classified as one of the four major jumping events in athletics, alongside the high jump, long jump and triple jump. It is unusual among track and field sports in that it requires a significant amount of specialised equipment in order to participate, even at a basic level. KC Lightfoot
KC Lightfoot (born November 11, 1999, in Lee's Summit, Missouri), is an American pole vaulter. He holds the American record with a clearance of at the Music City Track Carnival in Nashville on June 2, 2023. This broke the record of 6.06 set by Sam Kendricks, the 2017 and 2019 World champion, in 2019. Lightfoot now ranks fourth on the world all-time list behind Swede Mondo Duplantis (6.22, reigning Olympic and world champ), Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie (6.16 indoors) and Ukrainian Sergey Bubka (6.15 indoors, 6.14 outdoors). The United States, represented by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place in the summer of 2020, the Games were postponed to July 23 to August 8, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. U.S. athletes have appeared in every Summer Olympics of the modern era, with the exception of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, which the U.S. boycotted. The opening ceremony flag-bearers for the United States were baseball player Eddy Alvarez and basketball player Sue Bird. Javelin thrower Kara Winger was the flag-bearer for the closing ceremony. TikTok
TikTok, known in China as Douyin (), is a short-form video hosting service owned by the Chinese company ByteDance. It hosts user-submitted videos, which can range in duration from 15 seconds to 10 minutes. TikTok is an international version of Douyin, which was released in the Chinese market in September 2016. It launched in 2017 for iOS and Android in most markets outside of mainland China; however, it became available worldwide only after merging with another Chinese social media service, Musical.ly, on 2 August 2018. TikTok and Douyin have almost the same user interface but no access to each other's content. Their servers are each based in the market where the respective app is available.
