Zabadak (band)
is a Japanese musical group formed by Tomohiko Kira, Yoko Ueno, and Katushi Matsuda in 1985. The sound of Zabadak has been strongly influenced by both Celtic music and progressive. In 1993, Ueno and Matsuda left and Kira continued the group as a solo act still under the name Zabadak. Kira's partner and longtime support member Koko Komine joined in March 2011. Kira died on July 3, 2016, from an undisclosed cause at the age of 56. Zabadak was named after a song by Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich. The main-belt asteroid 10566 Zabadak was named after the band. Zabadak albums include collaborations and co-writes with American songwriter Cara Jones. Tomohiko Kira
(December 6, 1959 – July 3, 2016) was a Japanese guitarist who led the band ZABADAK. He also composed the original music for the 1988 cult horror film ''Evil Dead Trap'', and performed guitar on soundtracks of the role-playing video games ''Xenogears'' (1998) and ''Chrono Cross'' (1999), playing the opening and ending themes on the latter. He later recorded an album with the singer of the ending theme from ''Chrono Cross'', Noriko Mitose is a Japanese singer. She is the vocalist of the band Kirche, and as a solo singer, has performed many songs for games. Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich were an English rock band active during the 1960s. Formed in Salisbury in 1964, the band consisted of David John Harman (Dave Dee), Trevor Leonard Ward-Davies (Dozy), John Dymond (Beaky), Michael Wilson (Mick) and Ian Frederick Stephen Amey (Tich). Their novel name, zany stage act and lurid dress sense helped propel them to chart success with a string of hit singles penned by songwriters Ken Howard and Alan Blaikley including " Hold Tight!", "Bend It!" and " Zabadak!". Over the course of the band's career, they played several different genres, including freakbeat, mod and pop. The asteroid belt is a torus-shaped region in the Solar System, located roughly between the orbits of the planets Jupiter and Mars. It contains a great many solid, irregularly shaped bodies, of many sizes, but much smaller than planets, called asteroids or minor planets. This asteroid belt is also called the main asteroid belt or main belt to distinguish it from other asteroid populations in the Solar System such as near-Earth asteroids and trojan asteroids. An asteroid is a minor planet of the inner Solar System. Sizes and shapes of asteroids vary significantly, ranging from 1-meter rocks to a dwarf planet almost 1000 km in diameter; they are rocky, metallic or icy bodies with no atmosphere.
