Zoe Herriot
Zoe Heriot (sometimes spelled Zoe Herriot) is a fictional character played by Wendy Padbury in the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. A young astrophysicist who lived on a space wheel in the 21st century, she was a companion of the Second Doctor and a regular in the programme from 1968 to 1969. Character history Zoe first appears in the serial ''The Wheel in Space'', where she is the librarian on board Space Station W3, also known as the Wheel. When the Cybermen attack, she aids the Doctor and Jamie in defeating them before stowing away aboard the TARDIS. In David Whitaker's script for ''The Wheel in Space'', Zoe's last name is spelled "Heriot", but the double-"r" misspelling is also seen in reference works. Zoe's age is not given in the series, but according to initial publicity she was fifteen when she joined the TARDIS crew. Doctor Who
''Doctor Who'' is a British science fiction television series broadcast by the BBC since 1963. The series depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called the Doctor, an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. The TARDIS exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. With various companions, the Doctor combats foes, works to save civilisations, and helps people in need. Beginning with William Hartnell, thirteen actors have headlined the series as the Doctor; in 2017, Jodie Whittaker became the first woman to officially play the role on television. The transition from one actor to another is written into the plot of the series with the concept of regeneration into a new incarnation, a plot device in which a Time Lord "transforms" into a new body when the current one is too badly harmed to heal normally. Doctor Who DVD Releases
This is a list of ''Doctor Who'' serials and episodes that have been released on DVD and Blu-ray. DVD Release Most ''Doctor Who'' DVDs have been released first in the United Kingdom with Region 2, and released later in Australia and New Zealand ( Region 4) and in North America ( Region 1). Aside from differences in the external packaging, special features and commentaries are mostly identical in all versions. All Region 1 releases prior to September 2005 included a "Who's Who" feature that identified key cast members and gave brief biographies and filmographies. The Region 1 releases of ''The Robots of Death'', ''The Ark in Space'', ''The Talons of Weng-Chiang'', and ''Pyramids of Mars'' also include a featurette with the syndicated Time Life introductions and closings narrated by Howard da Silva. ''Doctor Who: The Lost Stories'' is a sci-fi audio series produced by Big Finish Productions of '' Doctor Who'' audio plays adapted from unused TV stories. Episodes Series 1 (2009–10) The first series is largely adapted from stories planned for the unmade 1985–1986 series. Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant star as the Sixth Doctor and Peri. Clegg wrote a detailed story breakdown for ''Point of Entry'', which Platt turned into a complete script. Hammond wrote an incomplete script for ''Paradise 5'', which was completed and adapted for audio by Lane. Martin, Bidmead, and Mills have revised their own scripts, with Bidmead describing his revision as a "top-to-bottom rewrite". Paul Finch approached Big Finish with a complete script that his father Brian had written for Season 22 in 1985. The story was completely unknown to Big Finish before this..
