ZIV International was an American production and distribution company founded in 1971 by Irv Holender. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, it distributed Americanised versions of European animated cartoons and Japanese anime series, and produced and distributed celebrity biographies. WorldCat recognises 83 works in 97 publications. Holender sold his company and library to Lorimar Productions in 1982, the library contents were sold to Coral Pictures in 1986. Ziv Television Programs, Inc. was an American production company that specialized in productions for first-run television syndication in the 1950s. History The company was founded by Frederick Ziv in 1948 and was a subsidiary of his successful radio syndication business, which had begun in 1937. The company produced recorded programs and sold them directly to local television stations. The television syndication service proved lucrative during the late 1940s and early 1950s, as local television stations wanted to fill their schedules during hours outside of "prime time". By 1955, Ziv was producing more than 250 half-hour TV episodes a year. As the Big Three television networks began offering programs outside of prime time, Ziv's popularity and business began to decline. Captain Future is a pulp science fiction hero — a space-traveling scientist and adventurer —originally published in his namesake pulp magazine from 1940 to 1944. The character was created by editors Mort Weisinger and Leo Margulies. The majority of the stories were authored by Edmond Hamilton. A number of adaptations and derivative works followed. ''Little Memole'' also known as ''Wee Wendy'' or , is a Japanese anime television series produced in the 1980s by Toei Animation. Plot A group of 245 inhabitants from a planet called Riruru make a crash landing onto Earth from their spaceship. This is due to a failure in the spaceship. Aboard the spaceship is a young tiny girl named Memole which the series is centered on. The citizens of Riruru are cautious about trying to adapt to life on Earth because of their lilliputian size. However, this does not bother Memole. Memole is reckless and brave enough to venture with a group of friends into the city.
