Zurab Zhvania
Zurab Zhvania ( ka, ზურაბ ჟვანია; 9 December 1963 – 3 February 2005) was a Georgian politician, who served as Prime Minister of Georgia and Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia. Zhvania began his political career at young age, making his first political steps as a member of Green Party, in the beginning of 90s. In 1992 Zhvania was elected chairman of Eastern European Green's and was first Eastern European to serve at the post. In 1993 Zhvania made first serious steps in Georgian politics as he was elected as General Secretary of Citizen's Union. From that point Zhvania served important role in Georgian politics until his death in 2005. 1995 he became the chairman of parliament and maintained the post until his resignation in 1999, which was followed with discharge of other ministers, whom Zhvania suspected in Corruption. Lasha Zhvania ( ka, ლაშა ჟვანია; born on 14 October 1973 in Tbilisi, Georgia) is a Georgian politician, diplomat, businessman, and social activist who currently serves as Head of the Presidential Administration of Georgia for the country's fifth president, Salome Zourabichvili. A diplomat by education, he began an international affairs career by working in Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, notably by serving as the country's Ambassador to Israel and Cyprus. He would eventually join the political field, becoming a member of the Georgian Parliament, and the Minister of Economic Development for a short period of time after the August 2008 war against Russia. Anna Zhvania ( ka, ანა ჟვანია) (born July 24, 1970) is a Georgian sociologist and politician who served as head of the foreign intelligence branch of Georgia from 2006 until 2008, being the first female to have been appointed to this post in Georgia. Education Born in St. Petersburg, Zhvania graduated from Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts in 1994. She holds an MA in Modern History of the Central European University in Budapest and gained her Ph.D. in Social science from Ilia State University in Tbilisi.
