Zaire Women's National Under-19 Basketball Team
The DR Congo women's national under-18 and under-19 is a national basketball team of Mali and is governed by the Basketball Federation of Democratic Republic of Congo. It represents Democratic Republic of the Congo in international under-19 and under-18 (under age 19 and under age 18) women's basketball competitions. The team was formerly known as the ''Zaire women's national under-18 and under-19 basketball team''. The FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup (formerly FIBA Under-19 World Championship for Women) is the women's international under-19 basketball championship organised by FIBA. The 2004 FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship for Women was the 8th FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship for Women, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop.
