Bryce Zabel
Bryce H. Zabel (born May 17, 1954) is an American television producer, director, writer, and occasional actor. With hundreds of hours of produced film and television credits, Zabel has scripted a trio of mini-series which aired in the U.S. market and were distributed worldwide. They include the medical thriller ''Pandemic'' (2007, Hallmark), the pirate adventure ''Blackbeard'' (2006, Hallmark), and the disaster epic ''The Poseidon Adventure'' (2005, NBC). Education Zabel attended Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Oregon. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Oregon in Eugene. After graduation, Zabel stayed in Eugene and worked at television station KVAL-TV and radio station KZEL-FM. Carl Zabel
Carl Albert Maximilian Zabel (March 19, 1837 - ?) was an American merchant and manufacturer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who spent one term as an independent member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Background Zabel was born March 19, 1837, in Magdeburg, Saxony, in the Kingdom of Prussia. He immigrated to New York City in 1851, and moved to Milwaukee in 1856. He described himself as "having received a collegiate education", became a merchant and manufacturer, and retired from active business before ever holding public office. Public office Zabel became commissioner of Milwaukee Public Schools in May 1881; and was elected to the Assembly for 1882 for the 6th Milwaukee County Assembly district (the 6th and 13th Wards of the City of Milwaukee) with 790 votes, unseating incumbent Republican Henry Herzer, who polled 675 votes. David Breitel Zabel is an American television producer and writer. He has worked extensively on '' ER'', becoming an executive producer and the series' showrunner. He has won a Humanitas Prize for his writing for ''ER''. He was also the showrunner/executive producer of the PBS series ''Mercy Street''. Early life Zabel was raised in New York City. Hermann Zabel (22 September 1832, Neu-Katzow – 26 April 1912, Gotha) was a German botanist who specialized in the field of dendrology. From 1854 to 1860 he was employed as an assistant at the botanical garden and museum in Greifswald. From 1869 to 1895 he was director of the forestry botanical garden in Hannoversch Münden. Igor Zabel (14 August 1958 – 23 July 2005) was a Slovene art historian, curator, and essayist. He was curator at the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana and one of the most prominent writers on modern and contemporary art in Slovenia. In 2007 he was posthumously awarded the Rožanc Award for his essays on Modern and Contemporary Art. ''The Igor Zabel Association for Culture and Theory'' and its ''Igor Zabel Award'' carry his name, in the memory of his work. Life Zabel was born in Ljubljana. Jim Zabel (September 5, 1921 – May 23, 2013) was an American radio and television broadcaster best known for serving as the play-by-play announcer for Iowa Hawkeyes football and men's basketball games for 48 years on WHO (AM) Radio. A native of Davenport, Iowa, Zabel attended The University of Iowa, where he was an editor of the student newspaper, graduating with a degree in journalism in 1944. Zabel joined WHO as the sports director in 1944, He was employed by the station as a talk-show host after retiring from play-by-play. Mark Zabel (born 12 August 1973 in Calbe, Saxony-Anhalt) is a German sprint canoeist and Surfski Champion. Competing in three Summer Olympics, he won three medals in the K-4 1000 m event with one gold ( 1996) and two silvers (2000, 2004).
