Z-series Trains
Z-series trains () are a train service offered by China National Railway. Z stands for ''Zhida Tekuai'' ("non-stop express"). Most Z-series trains do not have any intermediary stops, not even technical stops for changing locomotives or drivers. However, some of these trains later had a few stops added to their schedule to boost the number of passengers. Generally, Z-series trains are overnight, all-sleeper trains that have travel time of around 10–14 hours, with an average speed of around , and top speed up to . The majority have both soft sleepers and hard sleepers, while some Z trains have only soft sleepers, few of them also have soft seat. Z17/18 Beijing-Harbin Through Train
The Z17/18 Beijing-Harbin Through Train is a non-stop express train between Beijing and Harbin, capital of the Heilongjiang province, operated by Harbin Railway Bureau using 25T carriages. The 1242 km journey spans across almost the entire Beijing–Harbin railway. The train from Beijing railway station to Harbin West railway station is numbered Z17, with a journey time of 9 hours and 57 minutes; while the train in the opposite direction is numbered Z18, with a journey time of 10 hours and 15 minutes. It is also the second non-stop express train between Beijing and Harbin, after Z15/16.
