Yvonne Jeffries
Yvonne Jeffries (previously Gregory) is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street''. She was portrayed by Alison Quigan in a guest stint in 2004, before returning in a regular role the following year. She remained on the show until 2011 and returned as part of the shows 20th anniversary in May 2012. Yvonne arrived alongside husband, Ian ( Jeffrey Thomas), as the mother of lesbian nurse, Maia Jeffries ( Anna Jullienne). Yvonne proved disappointed at Maia's sexuality and in comparison she was proud of her other daughters Libby ( Fleur Saville) and Tania ( Faye Smythe). ''Shortland Street'' is a New Zealand prime-time soap opera centring on the fictitious Shortland Street Hospital, first broadcast on TVNZ 2 on 25 May 1992. The Ferndale Strangler
Joseph James "Joey" Henderson is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street who was portrayed by Johnny Barker from mid 2007 to early 2008. Arriving in June 2007 as an eager yet awkward newbie nurse, Joey was a potential love interest for Claire Solomon ( Emily Robins). However Claire ended up murdered by an unknown assailant and for the next 6 months, ''Shortland Street'' underwent its largest and most dramatic whodunit storyline in its history. Neville Anderson (born 18 July 1947) known professionally as Andy Anderson and also billed as Andy James, is a New Zealand musician and actor who worked a lot in Australia. As a musician he is best known as the lead singer of 1960s band The Missing Links, and as an actor he is well known for his roles on both Australian and New Zealand television. Music career Anderson who was born in Naenae, Lower Hutt, near Wellington performed in several well-known Australian rock bands of the 1960s, in 1965 he joined the second lineup of famed Sydney garage punk group the Missing Links as lead vocalist, and he performed on the group's only album. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neuron disease (MND) or Lou Gehrig's disease, is a neurodegenerative disease that results in the progressive loss of motor neurons that control voluntary muscles. Shortland Street's 20th anniversary is a series of episodes that aired to commemorate the 20th year of the New Zealand soap opera '' Shortland Street'' from 21 to 25 May 2012. The episodes were built around a 90-minute episode that aired on the 21st and climaxed in a helicopter crash. Billed as Shortland Street's biggest ever episode, the anniversary was highly praised by reviewers and received record ratings.
