Yvon Pinard
Yvon Pinard, (born October 10, 1940) is a judge and former Canadians, Canadian politician. Pinard was born the son of Jean-Jacques and Cécile Pinard and was educated at Immaculate Conception School in Drummondville. He then attended the Nicolet Seminary, winning the Lieutenant Governor Onésime Gagnon Medal for Academic Merit, and the Université de Sherbrooke, winning the Lieutenant Governor Paul Comtois Medal for Academic and Social Merit. He was called to the bar of Quebec in 1964. He founded the Drummond Caisse d'Entraide Economique, involving himself with that organization as well as politics and hockey. Pinard was first elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 1974 Canadian federal election, 1974 election. Richmond, population 3,232 (2016), is a town nestled amidst rolling farmlands on the Saint-François River between Sherbrooke and Drummondville, in the heart of Estrie in Quebec, Canada. History Originally settled by colonists from New England, Montreal and the Richelieu River valley circa 1798, Richmond is one of the oldest settlements in the former region of the Eastern Townships. Richmond grew in importance during the 1800s when it became a key railway junction. The St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad opened between Montreal and Portland, Maine, on April 4, 1853 and was purchased four months later and absorbed into the Grand Trunk Railway (GTR)'s system.
