Yusif Mammadaliyev
Yusif Haydar oglu Mammadaliyev ( az, Yusif Heydər oğlu Məmmədəliyev; December 31, 1905 – December 15, 1961) was an Azerbaijani and Soviet chemist. He was a Doctor of Chemistry, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR, and was the president of the National Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR. Biography He was born on December 31, 1905, in Ordubad. In 1923, he entered the higher pedagogical institute of Baku. In 1926, after successful graduation from the institute he taught at secondary school for 3 years. In 1929, he became a second-year student of chemistry faculty of MSU, from which he graduated in 1932. He was a student of Nikolay Zelinsky and Aleksei Balandin and one of the first seniors of the laboratory of organic chemistry of chemistry faculty's organic chemistry cathedra with “organocatalysis” speciality. Ordubad
Ordubad is the second largest city of Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the capital of an eponymous district. Ordubad is a medieval city of the Caucasus and in its current capacity of a town was founded in the 18th century. The town is divided into five districts: Ambaras, Kurdtatal, Mingis, Sarshahar, and Uch. Ordubad is known as the “pearl” of Nakhchivan and is well known for its exports of fruits and spices, and for its cuisine. Carbon tetrachloride, also known by many other names (such as tetrachloromethane, also IUPAC nomenclature of inorganic chemistry, recognised by the IUPAC, carbon tet in the cleaning industry, Halon-104 in firefighting, and Refrigerant-10 in HVACR) is an organic compound with the chemical formula CCl4.
