Yuroke, Victoria
Yuroke is a bounded rural locality in Victoria, Australia, north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Yuroke recorded a population of 123 at the . Yuroke is located adjacent to the Melbourne Metropolitan Area, beyond the Urban Growth Boundary. It is located between Mickleham and Greenvale, on Mickleham Road. History Yuroke gets its name from an Indigenous word, "Eurok Iguana", the meaning of which remains unclear. Yuroke Post Office opened around 1902 and closed in 1975. Yuroke was the filming location for Melbourne band Painters & Dockers' single '' Nude School''. Electoral District Of Kalkallo
The Electoral district of Kalkallo is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly in Australia. It was created in the redistribution of electoral boundaries in 2021, and will come into effect at the 2022 Victorian state election. It covers an area in the north western suburbs of Melbourne and outlying northern towns that was previously covered by the districts of Yuroke and Yan Yean. It includes the suburbs of Craigieburn, Mickleham, Kalkallo, and the towns of Beveridge and Wallan. Shire Of Bulla
The Shire of Bulla was a local government area about northwest of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of , and existed from 1862 until 1994. History The Bulla Road District was created on 16 September 1862. It became a shire on 9 March 1866. It gained some territory from the Shire of Broadmeadows in 1955, including then-rural areas such as Craigieburn. Accessed at State Library of Victoria, La Trobe Reading Room. The Shire Offices were transferred from Bulla to Sunbury in 1956. On 15 December 1994, the Shire of Bulla was abolished, and along with parts of the City of Broadmeadows north of the Western Ring Road and parts of the Cities of Keilor and Whittlesea, was merged into the newly created City of Hume. ''Kiss My Art'' is the second studio album released by Australian rock band, Painters and Dockers, which peaked in the top 30 of the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) albums charts in September 1988. The album spawned four singles, "Nude School", "Die Yuppie Die", "Love on Your Breath" and "Safe Sex", and the first two achieved top 50 chart success. Painters and Dockers are a rock band formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1982. Paul Stewart, singer-songwriter and trumpet player, Dave Pace (vocals and trumpet) and Mick Morris (vocals and sax) are all original members in the band which was named for the Federated Ship Painters and Dockers Union when they performed an early gig at a pub rock venue in Port Melbourne frequented by the union's members. Some members of the band went on to form the Dili Allstars. Their best-performing album ''Kiss My Art'', peaked in the top 30 of the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) albums charts in 1988. The album included two top 50 singles, "Nude School" and "Die Yuppie Die". In 2009, the band was inducted into the Music Victoria Hall of Fame. Mickleham Road is a secondary road located in Victoria, Australia, north of Melbourne. Route Mickleham Road begins at an intersection with Donnybrook Road and Old Sydney Road in Mickleham, and continues south as a two-lane single-carriageway through Yuroke to the intersection with Somerton Road in Greenvale, widening to a four-lane dual-carriageway road and continues south through Attwood to a large roundabout intersection with Broadmeadows Road in Westmeadows. City Of Hume
The City of Hume is a local government area located within the metropolitan area of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It includes the outer north-western suburbs and a number of rural localities between 13 and 40 kilometres from the Melbourne city centre. It has an area of 504 square kilometres, and in June 2018 it had a population of 224,394. The City was formed on 15 December 1994 after the amalgamation of most of the City of Broadmeadows, the Shire of Bulla and parts of the City of Keilor and City of Whittlesea. The City is unique in Australia in that it was the first local government to introduce a Bill of Rights for its denizens in 2004, following the establishment of a Social Justice Charter in 2001. The Division of Calwell is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Victoria. Calwell contains the extreme northwestern fringe of Melbourne.
