Yunganastes Ashkapara
''Yunganastes ashkapara'' is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is endemic to Bolivia and is known from the vicinity of its type locality in the Chapare Province (northern Cochabamba Department) and from Abra de la Cruz in the Manuel María Caballero Province (western Santa Cruz Department). The specific name ''ashkapara'' is derived from Quechuan ''ashka'' meaning "a lot" and ''para'' for "rain", and refers to the very high rainfall in the region of the type locality. Description Two adult males in the type series measure in snout–vent length (females are unknown). The head is narrower than the body; the snout is rounded. The tympanum is ovoid and the membrane is barely differentiated. The supra-tympanic fold is low and not obscuring the tympanum. The canthus rostralis is sharp. Vocal Sac
The vocal sac is the flexible membrane of skin possessed by most male frogs and toads. The purpose of the vocal sac is usually as an amplification of their mating or advertisement call. The presence or development of the vocal sac is one way of externally determining the sex of a frog or toad in many species; taking frogs as an example; The vocal sac is open to the mouth cavity of the frog, with two slits on either side of the tongue. Yunganastes
''Yunganastes'' is a small genus of frogs in the family Strabomantidae found in southern Peru and central to northern Bolivia. They were formerly placed in the genus ''Eleutherodactylus'' as the "''Eleutherodactylus fraudator'' group", subsequently moved to ''Pristimantis'', before becoming recognized as a separate subgenus, and finally, a genus. Its sister taxon is the genus ''Pristimantis''. ''Yunganastes'' are endemic to the cloud forests and humid montane forests of the Cordillera Oriental of the Andes in Bolivia and southern Peru.
