Yuliya Markovna Beygelzimer ( ua, Юлія Марківна Бейгельзимер; born 20 October 1983) is a retired tennis player from Ukraine. Career She is perhaps best known for nearly defeating Jennifer Capriati at the 2004 French Open where she was down three games to love in the second set but then swept nine of ten games. She lost the match, having led three games to love in the final set after winning the second 6–4. On 25 September 2006, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 83. On 3 April 2006, she peaked at No. 56 in the doubles rankings. In her career, she won 12 singles and 35 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. She also won three doubles titles on the WTA Tour: the Tashkent Open in 2003 with Tatiana Poutchek, the 2005 Internazionali di Modena with Mervana Jugić-Salkić, and the 2014 Katowice Open with Olga Savchuk. Olga Mykolayivna Savchuk ( uk, Ольга Миколаївна Савчук; born 20 September 1987) is a retired tennis player from Ukraine. Savchuk grew up in the city of Makiyivka in Donetsk province. She resides in Nassau, Bahamas. Her best accomplishment to date was reaching the third round of the 2006 Australian Open. Her career-high singles ranking is world No. 79, which she achieved on 19 May 2008. Mervana Jugić-Salkić (born 14 May 1980) is a retired Bosnian tennis player. She turned professional in 1999, and reached her highest singles ranking on 21 June 2004, when she was ranked world No. 99. On 10 July 2006, Jugić-Salkić reached world No. 59 in doubles, after winning the Auckland Open in 2004 with Jelena Kostanić, and Internazionali di Modena in 2005 with Yuliya Beygelzimer. The ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, previously known as the ITF Women's Circuit, is a series of professional tennis tournaments run by the International Tennis Federation for female professional tennis players. 2004 French Open
The 2004 French Open was the 108th edition of the tournament. Gastón Gaudio became the first men's Open Era Grand Slam title winner to save two match points in the final; the last time that had happened was 70 years earlier. Gaudio also became the first Argentina, Argentine man since Guillermo Vilas to win a Grand Slam (tennis), grand slam, in 1979. Fellow Argentine Guillermo Coria, widely regarded as the favourite and best clay court player in the world coming into the tournament, was seeded 3rd for the event, whereas Gaudio was unseeded (ranked 44th) and with only two titles to his name, both of which he had won over two years before. Jennifer Maria Capriati (born March 29, 1976) is an American former world No. 1 tennis player. A member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, she won three singles Grand Slam titles and was the gold medalist at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Capriati set a number of youngest-ever records at the start of her career. She made her professional debut in 1990 at the age of 13 years, 11 months, reaching the final of the hard-court tournament in Boca Raton, Florida.
