Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Myrddin
Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Myrddin ( en, Bro Myrddin Welsh Comprehensive school) is a Welsh-medium school in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is situated near the village of Croesyceiliog, about 1 miles (2 km) south of Carmarthen. Myrddin, the Welsh name of the legendary figure Merlin, is traditionally associated with the town of Carmarthen (Caerfyrddin: Myrddin's fort), and Bro Myrddin means "Myrddin's country (or vale)". Approximately 79% of pupils come from Welsh-speaking homes; in 2022 all pupils could speak Welsh to first-language standard. History The School was founded in 1978, on the premises of the former Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School for Boys, Carmarthen. In 1996 the school was moved to its current purpose-built campus at Croesyceiliog. Richard James (musician)
Richard James (born 27 March 1975) is a guitarist, bassist and singer-songwriter originally from Carmarthen, Wales. He was a founding member of the band Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, who split up in 2006. He performs and records as a solo artist, and as part of the bands Pen Pastwn and Locus. Career James was with Gorky's Zygotic Mynci throughout the band's lifespan, from 1991 to 2006, and appears on all their albums, initially mostly as a bassist. After John Lawrence left the band, James took Lawrence's place as guitarist. James wrote, and handles lead vocals on, some later Gorky's songs. His first solo album, ''The Seven Sleepers Den'', appeared in 2006. It featured backing vocals from Cate Le Bon (under her birth name of Cate Timothy). Wasps Rugby Football Club is a professional rugby union team. They last played in Premiership Rugby, the top division of English rugby until being suspended on 12 October 2022. On 17 October 2022 the club entered administration, resulting in relegation to the RFU Championship, and all staff being made redundant. They exited administration on 16 December 2022. Stephen Jones (rugby Player)
Stephen Michael Jones (born 8 December 1977) is a Welsh rugby union coach and former player who played primarily at fly-half. He played more than 100 times for Wales and six times for the British & Irish Lions. Jones was the record cap holder for Wales until he was overtaken by Gethin Jenkins on 15 March 2014. He remains as Wales most-capped back. With 970 international points, Jones is eighth in the List of leading rugby union test point scorers, and the second-highest Wales player on the list behind Neil Jenkins. At the end of the 2012–13 season, Jones retired from playing professional rugby to take up a coaching position at London Wasps and in August 2015 he joined the Scarlets as backs coach. Llanelli Scarlets
The Scarlets () are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams and are based in Llanelli, Wales. Their home ground is the Parc y Scarlets stadium. They play in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup (which replaced the Heineken Cup from the 2014–15 season). Ryan James Elias (born 7 January 1995) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays as a hooker for the Scarlets and the Wales national team. Club career Elias played youth rugby for Carmarthen Athletic, where his grandfather once served as club chairman. He later made the switch to rivals Carmarthen Quins, while progressing through the Scarlets academy. Elias made his professional debut for the Scarlets on 17 November 2013, against the Saracens. Leicester Tigers (officially Leicester Football Club) are a professional rugby union club based in Leicester, England. They play in Premiership Rugby, England's top division of rugby. David Mefin Davies (born 2 September 1972) is a Welsh former rugby union player who played as a hooker for the Ospreys and the Wales national rugby union team. He made his international debut on 8 June 2002 at Cape Town, South Africa. He was a member of the Wales team that won the 2005 Six Nations Championship and Grand Slam. Aled Davies (rugby Union)
Aled Davies (born 19 July 1992) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays at scrum-half for Saracens. Davies, a scrum half, was born in Carmarthen, and was a member of the age grade set up in the Scarlets region for a number of seasons; playing in the Reebok Regional Championship final with the Scarlets U18 during the 2008–09 season. He then made his debut for the Scarlets in a friendly against Worcester Warriors, coming off the bench in the 43–14 win. His competitive debut came a season later in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, where Davies made a substitute appearance in a 31–3 victory over Leicester Tigers.
