Youth Symphony Orchestra Of Ukraine
The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine () is a Ukrainian national youth orchestra founded by conductor Oksana Lyniv in 2016. She has conducted the orchestra in major concerts halls and festivals in Europe. History The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (YSOU) was founded in 2016 by conductor Oksana Lyniv. A conductor with an international career, Lyniv was music director of the Oper Graz (appointed 2017) prior to becoming the first woman appointed music director of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in 2022. She was trained at opera houses in Ukraine and at the Bavarian State Opera. ''The New York Times'' described her "as something of a pioneer in a field still heavily dominated by men." Casals Forum
Casals Forum is the concert hall for chamber music of the Kronberg Academy in Kronberg im Taunus, Hesse, Germany. Designed by Volker Staab from Berlin, building started in 2017 and the hall opened in 2022. It is named in honour of the cellist Pablo Casals. The complex includes rooms for teaching and practising for the students of the academy. Per the requests from the acoustic engineer, the architect designed the hall in a free form with curved convex and concave walls, to spread the sound widely. The acoustics have been compared to those of the hall of the Curtis Institute of Music and Wigmore Hall in London. History The Kronberg Academy, an international educational institution for string players, has been located in Kronberg since 1993. It runs concerts and an annual festival. Established in Berlin, Germany in 2000, it is one of the world's most important international platforms for young musicians in the Western classical music tradition. Kronberg Academy
The Kronberg Academy is an academy of chamber music based in Kronberg, Hesse, Germany. It was founded in 1993 by Raimund Trenkler, who has served since then as its chairman and artistic director. The academy's initial focus was on the cello and supporting young cellists, but it now trains and sponsors gifted young players of the violin, viola, and cello, and organizes a diverse range of musical projects and concerts, including an international festival of strings. It was granted charitable status (german: link=no, gemeinnützige Stiftung) in 2004. Study programmes The Kronberg Academy Foundation offers study programmes that are unique within Europe. Elisabeth Eleonore Büning (née Bauer; born 2 January 1952) is a German music journalist and writer, known for her opera reviews in the ''Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung''. Early life and education Elisabeth Eleonore Bauer was born in Frankfurt am Main and raised in Bonn. She attended the Elly-Heuss-Knapp-Gymnasium, where she graduated in 1970. She took up studies in music, theatre and literature at the Free University of Berlin. She completed several internships for music therapy at the University Hospital of the Medizinische Hochschule Hannover and gave music lessons. The Konzerthaus Berlin is a concert hall in Berlin, the home of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Situated on the Gendarmenmarkt square in the central Mitte district of the city, it was originally built as a theater. It initially operated from 1818 to 1821 under the name of the Schauspielhaus Berlin, then as the Theater am Gendarmenmarkt and Komödie. Symphony No
A symphony is an extended musical composition in Western classical music, most often for orchestra. Although the term has had many meanings from its origins in the ancient Greek era, by the late 18th century the word had taken on the meaning common today: a work usually consisting of multiple distinct sections or movements, often four, with the first movement in sonata form. Symphonies are almost always scored for an orchestra consisting of a string section (violin, viola, cello, and double bass), brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments which altogether number about 30 to 100 musicians. Symphonies are notated in a musical score, which contains all the instrument parts. Orchestral musicians play from parts which contain just the notated music for their own instrument. A symphonic poem or tone poem is a piece of orchestral music, usually in a single continuous movement, which illustrates or evokes the content of a poem, short story, novel, painting, landscape, or other (non-musical) source. The German term ''Tondichtung (tone poem)'' appears to have been first used by the composer Carl Loewe in 1828. The Hungarian composer Franz Liszt first applied the term ''Symphonische Dichtung'' to his 13 works in this vein. Evgeni Orkin (, born 2 October 1977) is a Ukrainian composer, clarinetist, saxophonist, conductor and author, who is based in Germany. Life and career Born in Lwiw, then in the Ukrainian SSR, Orkin studied first at the Kyiv Coservatoire, clarinet with I. Pendischuk and composition with Yevhen Stankovych. He studied further in Utrecht and at the Musikhochschule Mannheim, clarinet with Herman Braune and , conducting with Melvin Margolis and composition with Ulrich Leyendecker and . The Kyiv Symphony Orchestra is a Ukrainian symphony orchestra based in Kyiv. It has been conducted by Luigi Gaggero since 2018.
