Youth Conference (Hong Kong)
The Hong Kong Secondary Students Union (Chinese characters: 香港中學生聯盟) is a pro-democracy student organisation in Hong Kong established in August 2003 by some pro-democratic secondary school students of Hong Kong. Formed by various students' associations (SA's) and students' councils (SC's) of secondary schools, it is the third largest politically involved youth organisation in Hong Kong, after the Hong Kong Federation of Students and the Hong Kong Youth and Tertiary Students Association. The HKSSU's stated goals are to study social and political issues from a student's perspective, to speak out on government policies affecting secondary school students, and to raise awareness and sense of responsibility among young people towards social and political issues. Mong Kok (also spelled Mongkok, often abbreviated as MK) is an area in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The Prince Edward subarea occupies the northern part of Mong Kok. The Education Bureau (EDB) is responsible for formulating and implementing education policies in Hong Kong. The bureau is headed by the Secretary for Education and oversees agencies including University Grants Committee and Student Finance Office. HKPTU
The Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union (HKPTU) was a pro-democracy trade union, professional association and social concern group in Hong Kong. Until its disbandment in 2021, it was the largest teachers' organisation in Hong Kong with some 95,000 members at the time of disbandment. Mission The PTU was known to be politically liberal, socially activist, and concerned with the defence of the legal rights of teachers. Its main activities included: rights advocacy, and providing welfare services. It focused on improving education quality through promoting teachers' professionalism, and through advocating of education policies. Ben Chung Kam-lun (; born 19 November 1988) is a Hong Kong politician. He is the former member and the former chairperson of the Sai Kung District Council for Yan Ying and convenor of Neo Democrats. He graduated from the Lingnan University in Cultural Studies. He has been active in politics since he was 12 when he volunteered for Sai Kung District Councillor Gary Fan. He was also the chairman of the Youth Conference 2006 of the Hong Kong Secondary Students Union.
