''Your Ticket is No Longer Valid'' is a 1981 Canadian film directed by George Kaczender and starring Richard Harris, George Peppard, Jennifer Dale, and Jeanne Moreau. Harris later regarded the film as one of the biggest artistic disappointments of his career. Plot A businessman (Richard Harris) has a younger girlfriend who loves him. He struggles to be able to perform in bed. He gets aroused however at the thought of his girlfriend being made love to by a handsome thief. The businessman becomes obsessed with tracking down the thief. Production The film was based on a novel by Romain Gary which was optioned by producer Robert Lantos. His assistant Leila Basen wrote a draft of the script. She later recalled: If the book was totally sexist, the first draft screenplay written by an American writer was even more misogynist... George Kaczender
George Kaczender (19 April 1933 – 24 August 2016) was a Hungarian-born Canadian film director. He directed 26 films between 1963 and 2001. Biography Kaczender left Hungary in 1956 as a political refugee after studying film and working as an assistant director at the Pannonia Film Studios in Budapest. Before coming to Los Angeles in the early 80s he worked at the National Film Board of Canada in Montreal from 1956 to 1969 where he wrote and directed award-winning documentaries and short dramatic features. In 1968 he wrote and directed the award-winning feature film, ''Don't Let the Angels Fall'', starring Arthur Hill, that became the first Canadian feature film invited to the main competition at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival. In 1970 he left the Film Board to work in London with the producer, Oscar Lewenstein. The same year he became one of the founding partners of International Cinemedia Center in Montreal. IBM Selectric Typewriter
The IBM Selectric typewriter was a highly successful line of electric typewriters introduced by IBM on 31 July 1961. Instead of the "basket" of individual typebars that swung up to strike the ribbon and page in a typical typewriter of the period, the Selectric had an "element" (frequently called a "typeball", or less formally, a "golf ball") that rotated and pivoted to the correct position before striking the paper. The element could be easily interchanged to use different fonts within the same document typed on the same typewriter, resurrecting a capability which had been pioneered by typewriters such as the Hammond and Blickensderfer in the late 19th century. Winston Houghton Rekert (June 10, 1949 – September 14, 2012) was a Canadian actor. He was best known for starring in the television series ''Adderly'' and ''Neon Rider''.
